Max Verstappen often winds down himself during breaks by playing sim racing and it is a fun part of his daily activities that keeps him sharp and fast in the Formula 1 game. Verstappen also has a team that has partnered with Red Bull, Team Redline. It is a sim racing venture that Max Verstappen founded and is an active part of.
Max Verstappen recently had two great news announcements for him after his 16th race win this season. Max Verstappen now has 51 career wins and he now equals the number of wins with another Formula 1 great, Alain Prost.
Red Bull and Verstappen unveil unanticipated agreement
In a recent announcement it was deduced that Max Verstappen’s sim racing team, Team Redline and Red Bull will be having a multi-year partnership deal based on the benefits of both parties and Max Verstappen’s close relations with Red Bull seemed to have spearheaded this decision.
Joe Soltysik, the team leader of Oracle Red Bull sim Racing, has expressed his excitement over the merger with one of the most dominant teams in online racing. “Teaming up with one of the most accomplished outfits in sim racing history is an opportunity we’re thrilled to seize,” he said. “I am exceptionally eager to explore the immense potential of our collaboration.”
Team director of Team Redline, Atze Kerkohof, is equally elated with these new developments and wants to maximize this opportunity.
“This marks an exhilarating new chapter for our team,” he said. “Having already cultivated a strong relationship with Red Bull through Verstappen.com Racing, this venture felt like the logical progression. Team Redline eagerly embraces this new challenge and is eager to roll up our sleeves and get to work.”
Max Verstappen ties Alain Prost’s all-time record with 51st win
Despite the fact that Ferrari had locked out the front row during the Mexico GP, they couldn’t stop Max Verstappen from taking another victory this season. His total tally of 16 wins in the 2023 season has led to another record, i.e., the most number of wins in a season. Max Verstappen earlier held this record by amassing 15 wins in the 2022 season.
The Dutch driver now has 51 wins in his career, which puts him on par with Alain Prost. It is only a reminder of the legacy the Red Bull maestro has been creating ever since the 2021 F1 season and he has already become a part of history. After his win, Max Verstappen exclaimed in excitement about their race pace. “It is just incredible,“ said Verstappen. “To win from P3, is just amazing. I started P3 and the car was really great. It was a very strong race and now I don’t know — more wins, maybe 17 or 18!”
