Max Verstappen is the budding sensation of Formula 1, and he is set to make an impact through his performances. The Dutchman has always attracted a lot of attention from the F1 community owing to his races and his statements. The Red Bull driver has a knack for delivering the best in any given situation.
Max has always delivered his best in racing, whether it be online or offline. He is often seen playing simulator games online, including various cars and different categories of racing. It looks like Max’s future career decisions have been inspired by some famous drivers as he thinks about other types of racing series.
Max Verstappen draws inspiration from Valentino Rossi
Valentino Rossi is a well-known name in the MotoGP series. ‘The Doctor’ is held as the greatest in the sport, winning numerous championships and setting a legacy like no other in MotoGP. Valentino Rossi retired from MotoGP in 2021 but the love he had for racing led him to compete in the GT racing category with Team WRT in an Audi R8 LMS.
While getting interviewed about his future aspects of his racing career, Max Verstappen gave a cryptic hint quoting Valentino Rossi, “Less… I will race longer, but not in Grand Prix. It would be nice to do like Valentino Rossi, I like to see his races in GT, a category I have an interest in because we have our own car entered.”
“He did everything he could in MotoGP, with a crazy career, and now he’s having fun, while still working hard and wanting to win again. I think I will look for something similar in the future.”
Verstappen unlikely to match Hamilton and Alonso’s longevity
Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso are prime examples of the fact that age isn’t a factor in deciding the amount of pace you can extract from the car during a race weekend. Both drivers are producing magnificent results while being well over average age in Formula 1. Lewis and Fernando will be expected to retire from Formula 1 well into their 40s.
While Max Verstappen has indeed signed a long contract with Red Bull. He has made it clear time and again that he doesn’t in fact want to be in the sport for long and he looks forward to an early exit while enjoying his life and exploring other possibilities. Max Verstappen’s words echo those of Sebastian Vettel, who himself left the sport for more opportunities and to work on social awareness.
