Daniel Ricciardo has been confirmed for AlphaTauri’s second seat for the 2024 season ahead of the upcoming Qatar GP. Career choices and team selection are pretty much an important part of Formula 1, and most of the drivers fret about getting the best teams possible according to their talents.
Daniel Ricciardo has been through a lot of teams in F1 and he is currently a part of Red Bull as a reserve driver. He made his exit McLaren after what was largely an unsuccessful stint and he basically considers his exit a ‘blessing in disguise’.
Peter Windsor holds strong grudge against Ricciardo for Red Bull exit
Sky F1 pundit considers himself a huge Ricciardo fan and while Ricciardo opted to leave Red Bull racing after tensions between him and teammate Max Verstappen heightened to the point that they couldn’t look each other in the eye, he does hold a grudge against Daniel for doing that.
Windsor said during his livestream, “I’m a big Daniel fan, always have been, lovely guy, I’ll just never forgive him for leaving Red Bull though.
“For me, it doesn’t matter what the situation is, you don’t leave a team as good as that to go and do what he did. I was disappointed that he did that.
“I know he’s got another chance now and I hope it goes well for him, but I just wish he’d never done that.”
Daniel Ricciardo will not race in Qatar GP
According to recent news from the Red Bull end, Daniel Ricciardo is not going to race in Qatar owing to his metacarpal injury. While he has mostly recovered from his ailments and is undoubtedly ready to race, team boss Christian Horner doesn’t want to take unnecessary risks and wants Ricciardo to have maximum recovery.
It is confirmed that Liam Lawson will be replacing him for the Qatar GP and he is all set to make the most of this opportunity, which may be his last outing in an F1 car for quite some time. Ricciardo is all set to return to Austin after a long break. He should not let himself garner more injuries, as that would cause danger to his future hopes. A good result in AlphaTauri means higher chances of getting that coveted Red Bull seat.
Daniel Ricciardo admitted that being in McLaren ruined his techniques and confidence and he wants to get back into racing the way he was reinitiating his ‘mojo’.
