Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook CEO, has been gaining attention on the internet with a video showcasing his growing expertise in Jiu-Jitsu. Unfortunately, his recent MMA training has resulted in an injury that will keep him out of practice for some time.
It remains to be seen why Zuckerberg was training for MMA, especially considering that his presumed bout against fellow billionaire CEO, Elon Musk, was shelved. Nevertheless, fans eagerly await Zuckerberg’s entry into the cage.
Mark Zuckerberg suffers ACL tear during MMA training
Mark Zuckerberg has been training in MMA recently, and he was recently pictured training with UFC superstars Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski. The City Kickboxing fighters had positive things to say about Zuckerberg after their training session. Moreover, there were presumptions that Zuckerberg would step into the cage in 2024.
Unfortunately, an injury he suffered during training has derailed his plans. In a social media post, he detailed an ACL tear he suffered during training, which has delayed his entry into the ring even further. Zuckerberg has completed his surgery and is currently at the hospital, beginning his rehabilitation process.

Zuckerberg took to Instagram to break the news. He posted multiple pictures of him in the hospital with the caption, “Tore my ACL sparring and just got out of surgery to replace it. Grateful for the doctors and team taking care of me. I was training for a competitive MMA fight early next year, but now that’s delayed a bit. Still looking forward to doing it after I recover. Thanks to everyone for the love and support.” In one of the pictures, his wife was seen nursing him.
Incidentally, the ACL injury is something that the Indian film actor, Prabhas had. However, he did not do surgery for three years by taking painkillers. The actor recently underwent surgery. His dedication to acting must be applauded considering the fact that he appeared in numerous films even with an ACL tear.

Mark Zuckerberg vs Elon Musk fight still on?
In a recent Instagram post by Mark Zuckerberg, he shared important news in addition to the injury he suffered and the surgery he went through. It has made the fans buzzing about the shelved-out fight between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg at the Colosseum in Rome.
Zuckerberg’s launching of the Threads app earned the wrath of Elon Musk as it is a direct rival to Musk’s recently acquired X, formerly Twitter. This resulted in a public callout which eventually resulted in their mutual friend, UFC CEO, Dana White getting involved. White wanted to make an MMA fight between the two happen under the UFC banner.
However, Musk and Zuckerberg did not want the promotional machine to get involved in the fight. Eventually, the UFC was ruled out as the potential promoter and the fight was also ruled out. Both accused the other of not making the fight happen. Musk said that Zuckerberg chickened out. On the other hand, Zuckerberg did not find Musk to be serious about it.
Fortunately, in the Instagram post, Zuckerberg said that he was eagerly awaiting his entry into MMA in 2024. Moreover, he wishes to fight inside the cage in 2024 after recovering from surgery. The news has delighted many. However, Zuckerberg did not specify an opponent for the bout. It remains to be seen whether it will be against Elon Musk.
