Fans enthusiastically react to Sheamus’s reunion post with AEW star ahead of Edge’s retirement match

Sheamus is often considered to be the ‘perfect’ friend, as evident from last week’s SmackDown, where he shared an emotional moment with Edge. This week, The Celtic Warrior shared a post on social media about reuniting with one of his best friends.

The Irish has formed a number of alliances with a lot of people during his time in the company. He is currently part of a team known as The Brawling Brutes. Although he isn’t used as prominently as he was 3 or 4 years before, Sheamus remains one of the most beloved and top stars of the company.

Sheamus catches up with Claudio Castagnoli FKA Cesaro

WWE star Sheamus has had a lot of friendships in the company during his tenure, such as Drew McIntyre and Edge. However, one of his most prominent friendships was with the former WWE star Cesaro, who is now known as Claudio Castagnoli in AEW. The two superstars weren’t always the best of friends and even had a huge rivalry that spanned a series of matches.

However, they were eventually put together as a team by then RAW General Manager, Mick Foley. They proved to be a very effective team, with Castagnoli being a genius technical wrestler and Sheamus being the muscle of the team. They went on to capture the RAW and SmackDown Tag Team championships several times.

Claudio Castagnioli and Sheamus went on to become the best of friends with incredible chemistry and called their team The Bar. However, the team fell apart after some time, but the friendship remained between the two superstars.

In a recent tweet by Sheamus and an Instagram post by Claudio, the two men were seen enjoying a couple of drinks and having a good time together. The Bar was without a doubt, one of the most entertaining tag teams of all time, with their banter and arguments, which often resulted in hilarious scenarios.

“The Celtic Warrior” to face Edge at SmackDown

Last week on SmackDown, The Rated-R Superstar shared an emotional moment with The Celtic Warrior, where he thanked Sheamus for helping him to get back in the ring. As we all know, Edge made his historic return at Royal Rumble 2020. And according to The Ultimate Opportunist, had it not been for Sheamus, he wouldn’t have been able to get back to wrestling again.

Edge said that he was grateful to Sheamus for everything he has done for him. Not only did he help The Rated-R Superstar to get in good shape, but he also encouraged him to make his return. For that, Edge expressed his gratitude to the leader of The Brawling Brutes.

Sheamus also said that had it not been for the kind and encouraging words of Edge when The Celtic Warrior was starting out as a wrestler, he would not have made it to where he is now. Edge then extended a challenge to Sheamus for a match on SmackDown this week, which Sheamus graciously accepted.

Considering that this might very well be his last match ever, it looks like WWE is letting Edge handpick his final opponent and retire on his own terms, in his hometown. Will you be tuning in for the match? Let us know down below!
