Fans furious with Dana White after ‘embarrassing’ UFC 300 title bout announcement between Weili Zhang and Yan Xiaonan

Speculations regarding UFC 300 and bout guessing have become part of the daily lives of MMA fight lovers. Dana White has been constantly getting inquiries about the surprise he will bring to the audience regarding the April 13^th main event.

After making a few announcements in the lightweight, middleweight, light heavyweight, and featherweight divisions, the wait for title fights was always there. Recently, the UFC president came forward on social media, revealing the first title fight to take place at UFC 300.

Dana White announces UFC title bout between Zhang and Yan

Dana White recently released a clip announcing the bout between two Filipinos to take on each other at UFC 300 for the UFC strawweight gold. Both fighters have faced three losses in their MMA careers so far, and both are coming off two consecutive wins at least. After cutting down all the rumors about Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren 2 taking place at UFC 300, this fight will bring the women’s strawweight division once again into the limelight.

Dana White said, “On August 31, 2019, history was made when Zhang Weili defeated Jessica Andrade to become the first Chinese champion in UFC history. Guess what? Five years later, we will see history being made again as Zhang Weili faces Yan Xiaonan for the strawweight title at UFC 300. This is the first time two Chinese contenders have faced off for a world title.”

The UFC president revealed Zhang Weili will take on Yan Xiaonan to defend her title for the second time after winning the bout against Carla Esparza at UFC 281. Xiaonan also made a big statement in her last match-up when she defeated veteran Jessica Andrade via knockout in round 1 in just 2 minutes and 20 seconds.

Fans unhappy with Dana White’s title fight announcement

As the fight was announced after a delay of 2 hours, fans didn’t look happy with Dana White’s announcement of the UFC 300’s first title fight defense. Fighting fans looked disappointed, as they were expecting some bigger name to feature the title fight for the upcoming biggest event.

One fan looked unhappy and complained that he waited for 2 hours just to listen to the embarrassing bout, “You made us wait two hours just for this embarrassing.”

Another fan said, “No way you made us wait madly long for this trash,” showing his anger for waiting 120 minutes for a bout he was not expecting to take place at UFC 300.

Four bouts were already announced before this title fight announcement. Now this bout between Zhang Weili and Yan Xiaonan for the title fight has showcased fans disappointment already, but there is still a co-main event bout and a main event bout announcement yet to take place for UFC 300.
