Fans raise eyebrows over Oba Femi’s age after WWE released his first render as champion

Oba Femi, the new NXT North American Champion at only 22 years old, made his debut on November 18, 2022, on NXT Level Up. Femi defeated Dragon Lee in NXT New Year’s Evil, using his Breakout Tournament contract and executing his pop-up powerbomb finisher on Lee to become the title holder.

The WWE Universe is now eyeing Isaac Odugbesan, aka Oba Femi, after his age was disclosed by the company in their new render. Fans are expressing their disbelief at Femi’s age and sharing their opinions on the matter.

Oba Femi replaces former champion

In the recent episode of NXT, Oba Femi shocked fans when he utilized his Breakout Tournament contract after only one week of earning it. During the event, Dragon Lee defended his title against Lexis King. After successfully retaining the title, Oba Femi made his entrance into the ring and used his contract to secure a title bout for the NXT North American Championship.

Lee won the championship from Dominik Mysterio. After a few exchanges, Isaac made history by becoming the youngest North American Champion in the company. He said “NXT is lacking in one department severely, and that is the department of brute force. Nobody’s brutal anymore. Everybody’s soft, everybody is determined, and everybody is trying to get to the end by the soft means. But that is exactly what Oba Femi has to offer. That is exactly what I’m bringing to the Men’s Breakout Tournament. Brute force.”

Fans doubt over Oba Femi’s actual age

The new render of the Nigerian-born athlete as champion has shocked fans worldwide. Some fans are doubting Femi’s actual age, as the wrestler does not appear to be 22 in any shape or form. One fan even demanded to see the NXT star’s birth certificate to prove his stated age is his real age.

The fan wrote, “He gotta show up to NXT this week with a copy of his birth certificate because ain’t no way this man is 22 years old.” Fans claim that the new champ seems to have a promising future ahead, and after only a few matches in the NXT brand, he earned a gold.
