Fans slam Jamie Carragher for his 180-degree turn on Moises Caicedo within hours of demanding Liverpool move

The controversies surrounding Moises Caicedo’s transfer from Brighton did not just begin this summer, it has erupted since Arsenal tried to land the player in the previous transfer window.

Moises Caicedo was linked with a move to Arsenal in the previous transfer window, but it did not materialize. The Gunners re-ignited their interest in the player, but Chelsea’s interest eventually overshadowed this. Amidst Chelsea’s interest, Liverpool also makes a titillating offer for the player, but he blatantly refuses a move to Anfield.

Carragher sparks fan meltdown with Moises Caicedo transfer take

According to football. London, Jurgen Klopp, speaking in a presser, revealed that Liverpool had reached an agreement to sign Moises Caicedo as he told reporters: “I got told I can confirm the Moises Caicedo deal is agreed with the club. With the player, we will have to see. Medical today? I can’t tell you, I don’t know.

“We give it a go, and the club has really stretched it, to be honest.”

There was already an agreement in principle between Brighton and Liverpool for a record transfer fee of £111m for Moises Caicedo. While preparing for Caiceido’s departure, De Zerbi, Brighton’s manager, commented: “I have already forgotten about Moises, I’m really proud of the players we have in the squad.”

However, at the last minute of the completion of that contract, Moises Caicedo issued a statement saying he only wanted to join Chelsea, forcing Liverpool to back off the deal. Since then, Chelsea has been increasingly confident of signing the player.  Fabrizio tweeted, “Understand Chelsea are now in contact with Brighton to discuss their new bid for Moisés Caicedo. Talks on.”

He added, “Liverpool is prepared to walk away from the deal.”

Shortly after, he further added that “Chelsea are increasingly confident to get Caicedo deal done on Saturday – after positive talks with Brighton tonight [Friday] and more to follow in the next hours”

Jamie Carragher, the Liverpool legend, has had his take on the transfer saga involving Caicedo and his previous club. He first applauded their transfer decision after landing McAllister and Szoboszlai. He further edged Liverpool onto the Caicedo deal, saying the 110M price tag on Caicedo was a big price but necessary for Liverpool.

He then later blew cold when he criticized Boehly for opting to pay the transfer fee of £110M for Moises Caicedo. “(£)110M is a ridiculous amount of money to pay for a 21yr old. Boehly has lost his mind yet again.”

These contradictory statements have not sat well with fans, and they have severely criticized Jamie Carragher for blowing hot and cold.

Former Liverpool CB advocated for Caicedo’s Liverpool move

Jamie Carragher highlights the need for Liverpool to make a move for Caicedo when he said the club is desperate. He added that the transfer fee of £110M is necessary to completer the deal.

Jamie tweeted: “110M is a big price for Caicedo, but Liverpool had to pay big as clubs knew they were desperate. But signing two top young players for 145M & selling two of your older players for 52M is a great business!”

It clearly does not matter now, as we have heard from the horse’s mouth. This horse is desperate to travel to Stamford Bridge and be called a blue. And apparently, Stamford Bridge also wants him!
