Ferrari ace Charles Leclerc takes a spin in Porsche on Monaco’s streets amid F1 team principal’s approval

At the conclusion of the hectic 2023 season, Formula One drivers have chosen to embrace a well-deserved break and reboost their energy from the year-long stress by enjoying their holidays. Among them is Charles Leclerc, who has decided to spend his time in the comfort of his country, Monaco.

Leclerc is known for his endless love for the Italian vehicle Ferrari since he entered the motorsports industry. However, a recent scene unfolded before spectators showed the 26-year-old driving in a Porsche in Monaco, which shocked the majority of F1 enthusiasts.

Monaco’s streets witness Charles Leclerc driving a Porsche

Charles Leclerc has been a loyal member and the pride of the Ferrari team since he made his Formula One debut in 2018. The Monegasque driver was given a plethora of chances and luring deals to transfer to other teams, but his response would always end up steadily declining the offers.

Hence, upon observing his unwavering commitment to the team, Leclerc has been known as the forefront face of Scuderia Ferrari.

However, Leclerc was recently seen on the streets of Monaco, his home country, driving a red Porsche 911 Turbo S instead of a Ferrari. This has confused many Formula One spectators, as it is quite unlikely for him to drive in any other car apart from a Ferrari.

Leclerc’s garage is filled with Ferraris, such as the  Ferrari SF90, which secured his 2019 victory at Monza and other variants such as the 812 Superfast, 488 Pista Spider, etc. Despite having a variety of these Italian machines, he chose to drive a Porsche, as claimed by spectators.

F1 team principal backs Leclerc for title victory over Verstappen

Guenther Steiner has earned a reputation for his honest opinions and his ability to express his thoughts without thinking twice about the dire consequences. Recently, Steiner decided to meet with Sky Sports F1‘s Craig Slater for Christmas lunch and, hence, engage in multiple conversations regarding the F1 industry.

As the video was broadcast on Youtube, Steiner was asked by Slater about his opinion on the current dominance of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and if he was rooting for any driver to hopefully surpass the Dutch driver in the near future.

In response, the Haas team boss replied that he has high hopes for Charles Leclerc to clinch his rightful title as the World Champion next time, defeating Verstappen. He said, “I would say that someone is going to challenge Red Bull and Max next year; I think we are going to have more fights. I don’t know who exactly will, but I hope it is Charles who succeeds Max as champion. That would mean they have a good package, and at the same time, we will also have a good one. We are a little selfish.”
