Ferrari set to offer blockbuster 5-year contract worth $185M to Charles Leclerc, after F1 racer was reportedly in negotiations with Red Bull, Mercedes, Aston Martin, Alpine

In the 2019 season, Charles Leclerc joined the team of Scuderia Ferrari and immediately impressed everyone with his outstanding performances. He defeated the four-time world champion, Sebastian Vettel, and was rewarded with the longest contract ever given to a Ferrari driver, which will see him driving for the team until the end of the 2024 season

Recently, there have been rumours circulating that Charles Leclerc’s relationship with the Maranello team has been strained due to ongoing efforts that may lead to his departure from Ferrari. However, reports suggest that these rumours are false, as the driver is currently in negotiations for a 2+3 contract with Ferrari, rumoured to be worth 189 million.

Ferrari reportedly offer a $185M deal to Charles Leclerc

Charles Leclerc dropped hints about his future plans when asked about his future plans post the Austrian GP sky sports, he replied saying, “To be honest, it’s not really on my mind yet. When I say we slowly started talking about it, it’s just here and there, but nothing special, nothing specific. I love Ferrari, so I’m happy here. It’s probably the first time in my career that I’m in this position,” he said. I don’t think [that’s] because nobody wanted me in the past, it’s just because of the nature of the contract it’s the first time in my career that I actually get closer to a deal to end in Formula 1,”

He went on to say that the changes he’s made so far, including the transition from Sauber to Ferrari, were relatively easy. However, he acknowledges that his current career situation is different. Nevertheless, he remains focused on driving and is determined to win as soon as possible with Ferrari. The future beyond that is yet to be seen.

He might earn a staggering €50 million in 2029 if he goes through with his contract despite not winning a world championship with Ferrari.
