Wood is the reigning world featherweight champion. Despite being ranked as the second top featherweight fighter globally, he recaptured the World Boxing Association (WBA) featherweight title earlier this year.
“Leigh-thal” has responded to Mayweather’s challenge with a playful reply, suggesting that rather than facing Mayweather’s prospect, he might actually be more intrigued by the idea of stepping into the ring against Mayweather himself.
