Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao rematch bout confirmed?

In the past few weeks, Manny Pacquiao’s return to boxing arena and final match-up talks have been trending in the whole combat sports community. Pacman has already shown the desires he might fight from the current star fighters. Still, it can’t be exempted that former champion Manny has Floyd Mayweather’s win against him in consideration. According to Sportskeeda, on New Year’s Eve, 45-year-old Manny spoke about a potential clash between both legends that might take place in Japan.

While talking on The Pivot Podcast, Floyd Mayweather reacted to the potential clash that his ex-opponent is claiming. Mayweather said, “When Manny Pacquiao spoke about that, he shouldn’t have. I’m not going to say he’s right, and I’m not going to say he’s wrong. Just by saying my name, they gave me a check for $4 million. But remember, he got famous because they said he could be the guy who could possibly dethrone the king. Did it happen? Absolutely not. Was it easy? Absolutely.”

So the possibility is there, but the richest boxer of today’s era, Floyd Mayweather, isn’t showing much interest like his former opponent is.

Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao head-to-head

There was only one encounter that took place between Floyd Mayweather and many Pacquiaos on May 2, 2015. The match went until the last second of 12 rounds at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Nevada, US. It was one of the biggest for Manny’s career, as he lost two fights in 2012 and then worked hard to win three fights in a row from 2013 to 2014.

According to Ring TV, both boxers came with excellent displays of big-glove fighting, with equal scores in the corner, experience, body punching, hand speed, and footwork.  Manny Pacquia’s basics were over the top against undefeated boxers in terms of hand power (lead hand and trail hand), uppercut, infighting skills, and killer instinct. On the other hand, Floyd Mayweather was all over Manny Pacquiao in terms of intelligence and strategic dexterity, chin resilience, physical condition, ability to slip and block, endurance, athleticism, and jabs.

Now it will be interesting to see how both the retired boxers will compete against each other. Fans are excited to see if age factors are affecting the above-mentioned skills and abilities of their favorite boxer.
