Following HC Shane Steichen’s announcement on RB Jonathan Taylor’s long-awaited return, Colts CEO shares cryptic message

The bonding between the Indianapolis Colts and their All-Pro player Jonathan Taylor does not seem to be going on the same boat regarding the players’ request for a trade. Taylor’s injury intensified the situation more as he had to miss the camp for injury.

Amid these situations, Colt’s head coach Shane Steichen declared the player will be back in the coming days. Yet, something clearly appears to be cooking between Jonathon and his team as after the news broke out, the team’s owner shared a cryptic message.

Colts’ CEO posts cryptic message amid Jonathan Taylor trade rumors

Jonathan is entering the final year of his rookie contract hence a contract extension became necessary but nothing really went as desired. Later the 24-year-old requested a trade, but the owner stated that they did not want to trade him who is projected to make $4.3 million in 2023.

The receiver’s absence in the camp later ignited the fact that he might be depressed about his contract. However, the teams’ head coach hinted at his likely return this week leading to a strange tweet from owner Jim Irsay.

Accompanied by a praying hands emoji, Isray wrote “Most things I worry about never happen anyway”. It becomes interesting to investigate whether there is a connection between the owners’ tweet and the news of the players’ comeback.

Colts’ HC drops major update on Jonathan Taylor’s return

Taylor has been receiving treatment for an ankle injury at a medical facility outside of the state since early last week, and he reportedly does not plan to play until he is fully recovered. But according to Stephen Holder of ESPN, Shane Steichen said on Sunday that the talented running back would shortly return to practice.

Steichen did not give a specific return date, but the coach looked certain that his All-Pro star would make a comeback. Even though Taylor’s output decreased to 861 yards and four touchdowns in 2022, the team still sees the value in having the veteran on its squad.

Colts: Why Jonathan Taylor was not present at training camp Tuesday

“He should be back this week. Do I know the exact date he’ll be back? No, but he should be back,” the head coach said.

The animosity between the two sides seems to have festered but it is to be said JT is still probably the best weapon that the Colts have for 2023. Do you think Taylor will be able to make a huge difference once whenever he finally comes back? Let us know what you think below!
