Stefon Diggs’ departure from the Buffalo Bills comes as a shock to many fans, especially considering his significant contract extension with the team just ahead of the 2022 NFL season. Nevertheless, the Bills’ decision to trade the veteran receiver to the Houston Texans became a reality, prompting Diggs to bid farewell to Buffalo in a heartfelt message.
Despite the surprise surrounding the Bills’ trade of Diggs, Tom Brady had foreseen this development long before, even prior to the tense exchanges between Diggs and Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
Tom Brady predicted Josh Allen’s split from Stefon Diggs
Two years ago, during Capital One’s The Match event, Tom Brady made a surprising prediction about Stefon Diggs and Bills quarterback Josh Allen’s partnership. With a smile, Brady predicted to the possibility of Diggs leaving Allen, just as Rodgers and Mahomes had seen their top receivers depart.
“I’ve got my boy, Mike [Evans], ready to catch. I don’t even know, who caught Aaron’s? Davante [Adams] left him. Tyreek [Hill] left you, Patrick. Josh, don’t worry. Someone’s going to leave you, too,” Brady said during the event.
Indeed, Brady’s prediction came true as Diggs parted ways with the Bills on Wednesday, marking the end of an era for Allen and Diggs. After their fruitful collaboration over four seasons, losing Diggs is undoubtedly a significant blow for Allen as he prepares for the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, Rodgers faced challenges after losing Adams, as the Packers missed the playoffs in 2022. Nevertheless, there is hope for Allen, inspired by Patrick Mahomes’ resilience after losing Hill.
Mahomes led the Chiefs to back-to-back Super Bowl victories and secured back-to-back Super Bowl MVP awards, proving that a change in receiving personnel doesn’t necessarily spell doom for a quarterback’s success.
Leaked text shows Josh Allen calling Stefon Diggs “b*tch boy”
In preparation to receive passes from CJ Stroud in Houston, Stefon Diggs finds himself at a new football destination, leaving behind a trail of tension with his former quarterback, Josh Allen. The controversy surfaced when Bills fan WyattzWorld shared a revealing screenshot of a text exchange with Allen, where the quarterback’s frustration with Diggs was evident.
In the leaked conversation, Allen referred to his former receiver with a derogatory term, indicating potential discord between the two teammates. It came in the daylight just after Diggs’ trade.
The trade transaction involved Diggs, a 6th-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and a 5th-round pick in 2025 heading to the Texans, while the Bills received a 2nd-round pick in 2025 in return.
The receiver’s departure from Buffalo follows a series of public disagreements with Allen, including a heated incident in the Bills’ locker room after a disappointing loss in Week 1 of the 2023 season.
Notably, during the Bills’ 27-10 loss to the Bengals in the 2023 AFC Championship, the new Texans receiver expressed frustration on the sidelines. Marca reported that he engaged in a heated argument with his quarterback over his lack of involvement in the game.
