Former Manchester United star believes Mikel Arteta would ‘100% leave Arsenal to join Man United’

Mikel Arteta has certainly proved all the haters wrong by doing an amazing job at Arsenal in the last couple of years. The first season at the Emirates earned him much criticism but he has now turned things around and built a truly great team full of aspiring young talents. They narrowly lost the Premier League last season and are competing for it once again.

His great work at the North London club has made him a desirable candidate for many clubs. However, one person thinks that Arteta would surely join a club without any hesitation.

Mikel Arteta would join Man Utd, says Rio Ferdinand

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has been quite busy recently, as he speaks about a lot of soccer opinions on his podcast. However, it seems that his opinions are earning him backlash from many Arsenal fans. Just days before, he claimed that young superstar Bukayo Saka isn’t world class.

And now he has come up with another opinion, this time involving Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta. The former Premier League defender believes that Arteta would be ready to leave the club to join rival Manchester United.

He said, “Mikel Arteta would leave Arsenal to join Man United, 100%. Arteta is going in and saying to the lads, ‘listen guys, it’s been emotional but I’ve got to move, I’ve got to go.”

This has made many Arsenal fans mad with anger as they believe Rio’s comments make no sense at all. Arteta has been passionate about Arsenal since his days as a player for them and has never shown any desire to leave the club, especially to a rival club in England. It certainly does not seem he would want to join United when his side are doing much better currently.

Arteta cleared doubt over his future with Arsenal

And this is not the first time Mikel Arteta has been linked with a move away from the Emirates this season. The Spaniard has been rumored to be one of the candidates to take over the Barcelona job next season. His contract also ends in 18 months and the club is working to renew it.

However, Arteta himself bashed all the rumors away recently. He reiterated that Arsenal was the right club for him. “It’s fake news! I am very angry. I will not leave Arsenal this summer. I can’t believe what I read yesterday. We need to be more careful when we talk about issues that affect people. I’m in the right place, with the right people.”

Arteta said he also wants to complete his project at Arsenal, which has seen the team get so much better than before his arrival, “And, as I said many times, I am invested in a beautiful journey with this football club, with these players, these staff, our people, and there is still a lot to do. We need everyone on board to achieve it and I am certainly on board.”

Mikel Arteta certainly has big ambitions at Arsenal and one of them is to win the Premier League. They will want to go to the top of the table when they next face Sheffield United on March 5.
