Kawhi Leonard signs $152.4 M deal with Clippers
The Clippers star has signed a contract extension with his current team that is estimated to be worth around a huge $152.4 million for three years. The Clippers have offered him a max extension contract with a guaranteed $152.4 million at signing. Kawhi Leonard will receive an average salary of $50.8 million and cannot be traded till July of 2024.
The contract has a tenure of three years at the end of which Leonard will become an unrestricted free agent.
Re-signing Kawhi was a great decision by the Clippers’ management as he has been a key player for them in recent years. Kawhi’s performances this NBA season
Clippers star Kawhi Leonard has been an excellent player in the NBA for the past few years. However, injuries and weak physical conditioning have always held him back from unleashing his full potential.
When not injured, Leonard can easily be counted in the top five players in the NBA, but the injuries have always cut his time short on the court.
Returning from an injury that had limited his on-court presence in the last season, Kawhi has shown determination to make an impact this season and he has been successful at it for now. The 2023-24 season is almost midway through, and Leonard boasts an average of 23.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists which is a very respectable stat to have in a highly competitive league like the NBA.
