Over the years, the NFL has experienced a lot of horrific episodes involving players and aficionados of the game. All of these cases have deeply impacted the NFL community across the country, and the league as a whole has become wiser in terms of handling sensitive situations.
However, when former players come out to admit wrongdoings within the league during their time, it tarnishes the image of the organization. It sends the wrong message across to administrative authorities, which is exactly what happened in the case of former NFL cornerback Shareece Wright.
Shareece Wright reveals s*xual harassment incident
Last week, a group of 12 people filed a lawsuit against a high school athletic trainer, Tiffany Strauss-Gordon, on account of sexual assault committed against several high school students. One of these 12 plaintiffs is Shareece Wright, who finally admitted to being one of the victims of the female predator.

In a recent interview with ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” show, the former San Diego Chargers CB talked about his horrible sexual encounters with his high school athletic trainer during his formative years.
“The less it’s kept a secret, the harder it is for it to continue to happen,” Wright said. He added that he met the trainer in 2002 when he was only 15 years old, and what followed was a series of sexual encounters that lasted many years, ultimately culminating in the two having sex at Strauss-Gordon’s father’s house, who was the high school football coach at that time.
“You’ve got football, you’ve got the coach’s daughter, you’ve got a permissive school environment where it’s allowed to happen. I mean, you’ve got sort of a perfect storm of sexual abuse that could be covered up easily,” attorney Morgan Stewart, according to Fox News, who represents Wright and eight other plaintiffs, told ESPN.

Speaking about the actual encounter, Wright said, “I was worried about what people would say, or how people would try to portray it. “The narrative that we were boys and it’s not that big of a deal or is not that serious bothers me, like, the most.’’

According to USA Today, Wright said, he is “trying to change the narrative that when you’re a boy and you’re being molested by a female it’s not serious or it doesn’t affect your life or it’s not that bad.’’
Wright, 36, also admitted that the assault also impacted his romantic life. In the interview, he went on to admit that had he not been the victim of this encounter, he probably would’ve been married to somebody.
