The MLS is rapidly growing more attractive and was already one of the top destinations for European stars for many years. French striker Olivier Giroud is now the latest European star to join the growing list of elite players to join the North American league.
After many days of speculation which involved the star either joining the Saudi Pro League or staying in Europe, he has decided to join MLS side Los Angeles FC. According to Fabrizio Romano, he has already signed a contract with the club until December 2025. A verbal agreement was reportedly reached back in March, and he will join them as a free transfer as well.
Currently, he plays for Serie A side AC Milan, where his contract is due to end at the end of the season in June. He is expected to join LAFC then, even though the MLS season is already continuing in full flow. They have been badly needing a striker as well, and it can be expected he will be quickly incorporated into the team as soon as possible.

Contract until December 2025 set to be sealed in the next hours.
Giroud will leave AC Milan as free agent.

He will be joined there by former French international teammate Hugo Lloris, who recently compared the city to the GTA video game series. Both players had won the 2018 World Cup together, and will be the latest World Cup stars to grace the league.
Olivier Giroud’s numbers for AC Milan
Olivier Giroud is a nice addition to the growing MLS league, and his goal contributions for AC Milan speak for themselves. He has 15 goals and 9 assists so far this season for the Italian side, though could not help them win any trophies.

In total, he has scored 47 goals and assisted 20 times for the club in the three seasons he has played there so far. He was pivotal during their Serie A title win back in 2021, and has been one of the best strikers in Italy since his arrival. Being the all time French national team top scorer, he has won both the Champions League and World Cup previously.
There is no doubt that LAFC are getting a world class striker in Olivier Giroud, and they can’t wait for him to join them.
