Helmut Marko reveals details on “positive” meeting with Red Bull boss amid exit speculations

Undoubtedly, Helmut Marko has been a prominent figure of the Red Bull team. Nevertheless, there have been occasions where speculation arose regarding his presence within the team.

Following the controversy surrounding Sergio Perez, rumours circulated suggesting Marko’s potential dismissal from the team. However, Marko has recently addressed the issue publicly, expressing his views and clarifying the situation.

Helmut Marko talks about the future of Red Bull

There has been many rumours suggesting that Helmut Marko’s stay in the Red Bull team will surely end by the conclusion of the 2023 season. These rumours started back in October, when Marko passed a racist comment about the Mexican driver, Sergio Perez.

Even though he has sincerely expressed his apologies in public, spectators have been adamant about spreading the rumours rapidly among the F1 enthusiasts.

However, this was not the only speculation that spread about Helmut Marko. There were also rumours about the team advisor and Christian Horner having a cold war among themselves to get hold of the entire team’s power. Apparently, according to some of the fans, Horner was trying his best to part ways with the team advisor as he could see a potential risk of having to share the power of Red Bull with Marko.

Finally, after all these months of assumptions, Marko has decided to open up about his presence on the team, confirming that the 80-year-old will not be leaving Red Bull anytime soon.

He stated, “My future has been clarified in a positive sense. Everything will proceed as planned. What if I do all 24 races? Yes, and it won’t be stressful for me. If I said to myself that this is a crazy schedule, it would be difficult.”

Helmut Marko’s impact on Red Bull team

Marko has played a vital role in shaping Red Bull’s current status as the most dominant force on the grid. The combination of both Max Verstappen and Helmut Marko as team advisors has helped the Dutch sensation dominate other teams consistently, despite the hurdles faced by the team.

The 80-year-old still firmly believes that he has the capability to make the team progress further into the 2024 season. The three-time World Champion cleared up problematic  rumours about his departure ahead of the Las Vegas GP by saying, “From the outside, people are basically trying to talk BS. The mood in the team is very, very good, and everyone knows exactly what their role is. Of course, it was sad last year when Dietrich passed away.”
