Sauce Gardner, the New York Jets star who had been an ardent fan of Aaron Rodgers, had voiced his optimism about giving tough competition to the New England Patriots ahead of their last campaign. In Spite of adding a destructive weapon on the defensive side of the ball, Gang Green couldn’t overshadow the Patriots’ offense.
However, after failing to earn the mark of breaking his opponent’s record-breaking winning streak, Gardner claimed something very unusual about Mac Jones, the Pats quarterback, that is certainly shocking for football enthusiasts.
Sauce Gardner accuses Mac Jones of malicious intent
In the Jets vs. Patriots showdown, a heated incident happened between Gardner and Jones took place in the second half when the signal-caller was looking forward to getting a first down on a QB sneak. Gang Green’s young star later revealed the reason behind shoving his rival’s veteran on the turf.
“That’s probably the first time that’s ever happened to me. He got tackled. He reached out to me to get me to help him up. I just moved his hand out of the way”, he said.
The 23-year-old claimed the Patriots veteran hit him in the private parts while saying some words and added that he refrained from reacting instantly. He claimed he didn’t see it coming while blaming the Pats signal-caller for preventing him from having children in the future by doing this ignoble act.
“He got up and then came up to me like ‘Good job.’While he was saying that, he hit me in my private parts. I didn’t react like I really wanted to. I definitely wasn’t expecting that. First time for everything I guess. He’s trying to prevent me from having kids in the future.”
However, no penalty was called on either side, and Jones didn’t take any blame on his shoulders when asked about the incident. He instead mentioned it as a “famous quarterback sneak” and said other players were present there to testify to it.
Gardner’s Jets go down to Patriots
Though Rodgers is out of the squad due to a torn ACL, the Jets had high hopes of breaking their embarrassing consecutive losing streak against Bill Belichick’s squad. However, after going down to the Patriots in MetLife Stadium, they, instead, aggravated the situation by recording the 15th straight defeat against the franchise.
The Pats were leading 3-0 in the first quarter before taking the lead to 10-3 in the second quarter by forming an incredible combination between Mac and Demario Douglas. However, Robert Saleh’s team managed to take the score to 13-10 in the fourth quarter due owing to incredible performances from Dalvin Cook, Tyler Conklin, and Zach Wilson before ultimately going down to 10-15.
