CM Punk made his legendary comeback in WWE Survivor Series during the WarGames match, which garnered a record-breaking viewership worldwide. The 45-year-old wrestler left the company in 2014 and later returned to wrestling by signing with Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2021.

Fans are delighted with Punk’s return to WWE in 2023. Although his time with AEW was brief, he still left a significant impact on the company. Recently, a picture was shared on social media featuring a fan at AEW Collision with a humorous sign for CM Punk.

CM Punk had a successful run during his time with AEW, becoming a 2-time AEW World Champion from 2021 to 2023. Recently, a fan of Punk’s went viral after a humorous picture of him was shared on Twitter/X during the AEW Collision event.

Punk was seen holding a sign that read, “Just came out of a six-month coma and came to see CM Punk.” Fans on the internet found it amusing that, even though Punk left AEW in August 2023, there are still fans who are confused about his current affiliations.

CM Punk’s debut in AEW was at The First Dance event on Rampage on August 20, 2021. The “Best in the World” went on to defeat Adam Page to win the AEW World Championship on May 29, 2022, at Double or Nothing. Punk lost that title to Jon Moxley formerly known as Dean Ambrose, on the August 24 episode of Dynamite.

Brooks won the AEW World Championship for the second time from Moxley in September 2022 at All Out. The former World Champion was dismissed from the company in 2023 due to a physical altercation that took place backstage which led to his termination.

CM Punk reflects on his WWE return

CM Punk returned to WWE after a decade-long gap and even had his first match with Dominik Mysterio at Madison Square Garden, which he unsurprisingly won after delivering his finisher and pinned “Dirty-Dom.”

Recently the former WWE champion appeared on WWE’s Preview Special 2024 and shared his experience on his great comeback. During the interview, he spoke to hosts Megan Morant and Matt Camp.

He said, “So many things were going through my head. I had questions, concerns, maybe even worries, and that was all just dispelled like the instant that song hit, “Cult of Personality”, I walked out in front of my hometown, I couldn’t hear the song anymore. I didn’t know my cues.”

“To me, this is finishing what I started, this is picking back up where I left off,” said CM Punk. “Ten years wiser and still all that experience that I have inside the Royal Rumble and inside the wrestling ring is gonna come in handy. And I’m gonna get to win the Royal Rumble and main event WrestleMania.”

CM Punk has made it clear by announcing his intentions to the WWE universe that he will win the men’s Royal Rumble match and headline WrestleMania 40 for the world championship, two things he never achieved before but will see all through to the end.
