KSI has been the biggest rival of Jake Paul, not just on social media but also in terms of selling PPVs. Since the year 2018, there have been talks regarding the next possible faceoff between Paul and JJ in the boxing ring. Many experts even commented on making the match-up on an immediate basis.
But the rivalry between KSI and “Problem Child” is not just fighting. It also brings a gigantic number of users to watch their bouts. Recently, an ex-trainer of KSI dropped comments about making this rivalry fight happen in the boxing ring where he compared it with boxing legends’ fights.
KSI reportedly sold 2,000,000 PPV in 2023
There has been no particular announcement so far from both sides regarding a KSI vs Jake Paul bout. But the social media war is always on between them to keep the spark of their rivalry that fans might expect to see any time in the future.
Boxing fights might take time, but the pay-per-view contest is always there from both sides. KSI only fought three times last year: in January against Faze Temperrr, then in May against Joe Fournier, and lastly in October against Tyson Fury’s brother Tommy Fury, which resulted in the losing cause for the famous internet celebrity.
But despite fighting three times a year, with his only famous bout against Tommy Fury, KSI was able to make big numbers just from the pay-per-view sales.
Per reports, the 30-year-old sold 2 million PPVs in 2023. Though no official announcement has been made with full documentation, the three fights PPVs claim can also be shocking for rival Jake Paul.
KSI dislikes Viddal Riley’s Jake Paul comparison
UK-based YouTuber, and now also a boxer, KSI recently reacted to his ex-trainer Viddal Riley’s claim about rating Jake Paul higher in terms of skills than him. Riley, in one of his YouTube channel videos, gave his views on his ex-student’s current skillset and later surprised fans with his take on KSI.
Riley shared his choice of attributes, where numbers were given in attack, power, speed, defense, and boxing IQ.
After checking out his numbers, he awarded 6 for attack, 10 at power, and 8 at speed, and 2 and 3 for defense and boxing IQ, respectively. For Jake Paul, it was 8 in attack and 7 in all other sections.
Later, KSI reminded in one of his videos that this is not a baseball game and that the stats his ex-coach was giving were completely wrong.
“Personally, I think it’s completely wrong. I think he is way off the mark. This isn’t baseball, and I’m going to reject it. I rebuke it in the name of Jesus. Just no, the statistics are wrong. No, no, brother, Jake Paul stuck in me. I’m over it.”
It is important to note that Viddal Riley is also the one who made big comparisons between the Jake Paul vs. KSI rivalry with the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao rivalry. He favored the younger sensations side, which will make a big impact in boxing at this time.
What do you think of KSI’s PPV sale? And do you think Vidall Riley’s comment about his ex-student’s attribute is justified?
