The NCAA leading scorer, Caitlin Clark is the talk of the town for her exceptional showing and record-breaking outings. Alongside taking all the records in sight to her name, the Iowa star also is getting the recognition from the NBA greats like LeBron James.
The hype surrounding Caitlin Clark due to her on-court heroics is drawing attention from other competitions as well. One such competition is rapper Ice Cube’s Big 3, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament founded in 2017. Following her decision to join the WNBA, Caitlin Clark has received a massive offer from Ice Cube that is hard to ignore.
Ice Cube seeks to sign Caitlin Clark in BIG3
The hip-hop musician Ice Cube offered Clark a whopping $5 million to play for his Big3 basketball league. According to the deal, the 22-year-old will be required to appear in 8 regular season games and 2 playoffs providing if her team proceeds to the offseason tournament.
The rapper mentioned on his official X (former Twitter) handle that the offer was initially meant to be kept confidential. He further added, “But I won’t deny what’s now already out there: BIG3 made a historic offer to Caitlin Clark. Why wouldn’t we? Caitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the BIG3.”
The CEO of the league mentioned that the motive behind their selection of America’s women athletes is to help them “break down even more barriers” and avoid making them visit other countries against their will to play in the postseason for their survival.
As soon as her time in Iowa ends, Clark is expected to join the WNBA team, Indiana Fever and besides playing in the league Caitlin can participate in the Big 3, as the deal states. However, this is not the only offer that has landed to the point guard.
Dave Portnoy offers $10 million to Caitlin Clark to play in Barstool Intramural Team
There is no one at the moment who doesn’t want Caitlin Clark on their team. Following Ice Cube’s gigantic offer, Dave Portnoy made an even bigger proposition to swoop the Iowa star.
On his official X handle @stoolpresidente, the Barstool Sports founder wrote, “I’ll offer Caitlin Clark 10 million to play on our intramural hoops team.”
As if Cube’s deal was not big enough that the entrepreneur put forward his enormous proposal. Having said that, the business merchant assumably joked about the matter.
On the flip side, Cube’s offer to the budding star would mean that Clark would be the only female athlete playing amongst the men in the popular Big 3 which will allow her to shatter more glass ceilings. The ball is now on Clark’s court.
