Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill will be the last fighters to walk inside the octagon at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. With the light heavyweight title on the line, the fight promises to be an exciting affair as both fighters are known to possess one-punch knockout power.
Preluding the fight, which is just days away, Hill and Pereira had a heated exchange at the UFC 300 pre-event press conference. Nevertheless, words won’t matter when the two step inside the octagon.
Alex Pereira, Jamahal Hill exchange warnings ahead of UFC 300
When Dana White announced Jamahal Hill versus Alex Pereira for the main event of UFC 300, the fans’ responses were mixed. However, as the fight edges closer, fight fans are hyped up for the event and so are the fighters as evidenced by Hill and Pereira’s heated exchange.
Hill had come into the press conference wearing the Stoneface replica of Pereira around his neck. “I’ll make him remember this moment when I’m in my walkout, about to go into the octagon, and my music is playing. I’ll make him remember this moment”, Pereira said via a translator responding to Hill’s subtle taunts.
“Write it down, take a picture, I don’t give a f*ck. We getting it in when you step in there with me. Ain’t nothing to talk about, ain’t nothing to say. It’s all right here, and I’m on your a**”, Hill sternly responded.
With Dana White already announcing a $300K bonus, all signs point to either or both Hill and Pereira winning that bonus. Hill had already revealed two possible opponents if victorious against Pereira.
On the other hand, Pereira had expressed interest in headlining UFC 301 after UFC 300. With Jiri Prochazka looking for a new start against Aleksandar Rakic in the prelims of UFC 300, the light heavyweight division has no shortage of contenders.
Many fighters and fans have given their prediction for the main event of UFC 300 and the sentiment is split. Nonetheless, Israel Adesanya, Pereira’s former foe and Hill’s friend, had an interesting prediction as per BloodyElbow.
Israel Adesanya predicts title win for Jamahal Hill at UFC 300
Israel Adesanya, along with Dan Hooker, had given out their prediction for all 14 fights of UFC 300 via Adesanya’s YouTube channel, FreeStylebender. Interestingly, Adesanya and Hooker picked predicted a knockout victory for Hill in under two and a half rounds.
It needs to be noted that Adesanya and Pereira have an intense rivalry spanning across two promotions. After going 0-2 against Pereira at Glory Kickboxing, the Last Stylebender is 1-1 against the Brazilian in the UFC with his latest knockout victory a UFC 287 holding bragging rights.
Jamahal Hill had already revealed that he had sought help from Adesanya as he was going to fight Pereira. Only time will tell whether Adesanya’s advice will have any effect on the result of the main event of UFC 300.
Nevertheless, Hill is brimming with confidence as he heads into the fight against Pereira. On the other hand, Pereira, as usual, has not shown any emotion. In his signature style, Pereira had already sent a stern warning to Hill at the press conference. Now all that remains is the fight itself.
