Khabib Nurmagomedov’s association with Dana White is mostly professional due to his incredible career in Dana’s MMA promotion. However, a recent live session unveiled their collaboration on a documentary shedding light on Khabib’s journey.
The bond between them which grew through Khabib’s tenure as a UFC lightweight champion seems to have evolved into a deeper connection. This enduring relationship reflects a personal and amicable affiliation extending beyond the confines of fight promotions and contracts.
Khabib reveals documentary involvement with UFC
Nurmagomedov’s rise in mixed martial arts is undoubtedly an extraordinary story to tell. Emerging from Dagestan, Khabib’s mastery in grappling instilled by his father’s guidance, was evident from childhood.
During yesterday’s live session alongside Dana White, ahead of UFC Fight Night starring The Korean Zombie and Max Holloway, Khabib revealed plans for a documentary showcasing his journey through the UFC.
“Right now, I’m working with your [Dana White] people, you send here like 25 cameras about the documentary. Yeah, I’m working on this, like last five days. It’s very busy. Even now, these people waiting for me. Yes, I’m in.” Khabib said.
Dana, during the live session expressing his wonder revealed that,” So there you go, you heard it here first ladies and gentlemen, we’re doing a documentary on Khabib, my man.”

The former UFC lightweight champion expressed that this year is going to be very busy filming the documentary. However next year in the summer when it will be released it’s going to be one of the best documentaries ever.
Former lightweight champ retired from coaching role earlier this year
In 2020, The Eagle declared his retirement from actively fighting in the UFC, but his engagement with the sport didn’t end there as he took up new roles as a coach and promoter.

The undefeated fighter established his own MMA promotion named Eagle FC which recently started its operations. However, Khabib indicated a complete departure from coaching and the sport itself back in January. While Khabib formally parted ways with the UFC, his friends from Dagestan are flourishing currently. Notably, rising bantamweight talent Umar Nurmagomedov and reigning lightweight champion Islam Makhachev are enjoying success in their divisions.
