David De Gea has been one of Manchester United’s best players in recent times. The veteran goalkeeper had spent 12 years there but had to leave them this summer when a contract renewal was not offered by the club. That decision was seen as a betrayal by many fans.
The Spaniard is still without a club, even after the season has already started. Despite some lucrative proposals offered to him, he decided not to accept them due to many reasons. And now another exciting proposal is on the horizon.
David Beckham sets sights on David De Gea for Inter
David De Gea was offered many clubs, but he refused all of them. He had a chance to play for a Spanish second division side, but ultimately declined them. He was also offered to play in Saudi Arabia alongside Cristiano Ronaldo with a lucrative offer, but again he refused, this time for his wife. There was also a rumor that he could return to United, but it has not turned out to be true.
And now he has a new offer, this time from across the pond in the MLS. Inter Miami could be his next destination, with co-owner David Beckham heavily interested in him. The United legend reportedly wants another United veteran to join the club, and believes that their mutual connections can make the deal happen soon.
The Spanish goalkeeper could be open to the move, with Miami a very strong side in recent months. Boasting the likes of Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, they are a very strong team that is rising. They have been successful as well, winning their first trophy ever in the Leagues Cup and becoming runners up in the US Open Cup.
The MLS side may have problems registering him, though, due to the league having some strict rules regarding player wages. De Gea may need to reduce his wage demands if a move can happen. His arrival as a free agent would also help them.
Cristiano Ronaldo rejected Inter Miami for Al-Nassr
Apparently, Cristiano Ronaldo was wanted by Inter Miami before they decided to bring in Lionel Messi. Ronaldo was also left without a club like David De Gea when his contract with Manchester United was mutually terminated. This was in November, after he gave a bombshell interview to Piers Morgan in which he criticized the club.
He spent the next two months without a club, seeing what clubs would move for him. There was no strong interest from any European clubs, and that is when David Beckham and Inter Miami became interested in him.
However, nothing strong ever came out of it, as Ronaldo was more interested in the lucrative offer from Al Nassr, which he eventually accepted. Later on, it was Lionel Messi that Inter Miami instead signed in the summer.
