Soccer players often have trouble with their wives and girlfriends, just like the average human being. They often get caught doing something else rather than training or playing for their club as they are supposed to be. Many times they are caught cheating on their significant other, leading to a undesirable situation.
Andros Townsend is one such player who once also faced a similar situation with his wife, though the incident has a hilarious background. The same incident has now become viral on social media again.
Luton Town man’s wife thought of being cheated on by Townsend
The incident happened back in 2015, when Andros Townsend was playing for Tottenham Hotspur. His girlfriend was the famous Irish model Hazel O’Sullivan, who once caught wind of something her partner did.
She suspected Townsend of cheating on her and sent a WhatsApp message to her, asking why he had missed training. He, on the other hand, got very confused and asked his girlfriend to clarify things properly.
It was then that Hazel sent a screenshot of the alleged training incident, which showed a report that the player had missed a training session and was fined for it. She had found it on Twitter after searching there.
In an interview with talkSPORT, he said, “I get a text from her one day and I receive a screenshot from Twitter. As you do, she was searching my name on Twitter and [news of] a fine came up: ‘Andros Townsend accepts his fine for reporting late to training’.”
“So her mind is going off; if he wasn’t at training and he wasn’t at home then where was he? It could have been a real sticky one!”
But in actuality, the screenshot and report was that from a Football Manager game, which is a popular soccer manager game. The whole incident happened from a video game, making it very hilarious and funny.
“She’s messaged me and it turns out the screengrab is from the popular video game Football Manager. Someone’s obviously posted it on Twitter, having a laugh on Football Manager – and she’s thought it was real.” Andros also saw the funny side and shared it on his social media accounts, and it quickly gained traction on social media.

The 32-year-old has had a long career and has been lucky to have someone by their side. He has been with his girlfriend Hazel for a long period, from 2014 until now. It is unknown if the couple is already married or not, but there is no doubt the two are committed to each other.
Andros has had two children, a daughter and a son, respectively. Both of them are with his partner, Hazel. Their first child, a daughter named Aria Valentina Townsend, was born in December 2017. Only two years later, in August 2019, their second child, a son named Andros Darryl Townsend Jr., was born.
Currently, the Englishman plays for newly promoted Luton Town in the Premier League. Andros Townsend will be sure to avoid any chances of missing training, lest he face the suspicions of his partner again.
