Is Abu Dhabi GP getting cancelled? Examining the current situation surrounding the UAE event

The Abu Dhabi GP is widely regarded as one of the flashiest races of the season as the superfast Formula 1 cars zip around taking laps in the blinding lights of the Yas Marina Circuit. Abu Dhabi has been the last race of the season for over 3 seasons now and due to its inherently pompous environment it is considered a fitting finale to the grand show of Formula 1 racing.

There are only three races remaining in 2023 and Abu Dhabi GP is the last race of the season after the Brazilian GP and Las Vegas GP. It is famous for the last lap shenanigans and the controversial title fight between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Although, things may take a turn for the worse because the sword of cancellation looms over Abu Dhabi GP.

Current Status of Abu Dhabi GP

The Middle East is experiencing a highly disturbing situation which has affected entire countries in its wake. As such, there was a lot of controversy about the Abu Dhabi GP and speculations if the race will continue as per schedule. There were claims that the race may stand cancelled but apparently that is not the case reported by SkySports.

As mentioned in their report the Abu Dhabi GP will go on as per the schedule and it is definitely not under risk of cancellation. The rumor started arising after a notice was released by the UK Foreign Office.

UKFO had released an advisory to citizens travelling over to Dubai for the Abu Dhabi GP and other tourist purposes, about a likely terrorist attack which may end up causing huge damage. This concerned the people but F1 waved it away because the same notices had been put in other countries like France, Belgium and Bahrain where F1 racing went on without disturbance.
