Lance Stroll, son of Aston Martin owner Lawrence, has been under investigation for his acts during last week’s Qatar GP. The driver was also a victim of the gruesome weather throughout the race.
However, his behavior was not excused due to his medical conditions and was instead penalized by the stewardess from the 9th to 11th position in the Grand Prix.
Is Lance Stroll under investigation by FIA?
Lance Stroll did not advance past the initial stage of the qualifying process and was observed tossing his steering wheel from the car in the garage and pushing his trainer, Henry Howe.
This was all because Howe attempted to guide Stroll to the FIA garage for a mandatory weigh-in, as drivers were required to use the pitlane instead of the paddock.
When asked about his behaviour, Stroll replied, “We’re good. He’s a bro. We go through the frustration together and we ride together so…we’re cool,” totally dismissing the entire scenario.
Currently, the FIA is examining rule violations by Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll during the Qatar Grand Prix last weekend.
No further details were discussed about the incident; however, a regulating body of the FIA said that they were still in “discussion” with Stroll “about several incidents that may have contravened FIA rules, policies and procedures.”
What did Lance Stroll do at Qatar GP?
After the race at the Qatar Grand Prix, the Canadian criticized the decision of penalties taken by the stewards for track limit violations. He said: “It’s a little bit of a joke that they’re giving penalties for this, they [the stewards] don’t understand what Formula One is and what they’re putting us through.”
In an official F1 Twitter post, an FIA spokesman said that Stroll “may have contravened FIA rules, policies and procedures” for his continuous harsh behaviour towards others during Friday’s race at the Qatar Grand Prix.
His actions were considered unacceptable as he was still on the ground in the industry while criticizing the stewards in front of the camera. As per the reports, his frustration during and after the race has affected his overall performance, which has only deteriorated over time, proving to be fatal for the team, Aston Martin. It has also affected his teammate Fernando Alonso, who, despite being the oldest in the group, is maintaining the team by himself.
