Brock Lesnar, one of the biggest names in the sporting world, had a successful career in both MMA and professional wrestling. The former American football player and NCAA Division I 285lbs wrestling champion is still a big name in the UFC community even though his last appearance was years back.
UFC veteran Jim Miller made a hilarious callout after his record-extending victory at UFC Vegas 84 to Brock Lesnar. Miller made a joke about submitting Lesnar with a Kimura as Lesnar was easily submitted by Frank Mir on his UFC debut with a kneebar.
Is Brock Lesnar coming out of retirement at UFC 300?
Brock Lesnar was part of both UFC 100 and UFC 200, and both sold more than a million PPV buys. At UFC 100, he defended his title against Frank Mir in the main event whereas he made his return after five years at UFC 200 in the co-main event against Mark Hunt. With speculations arising of his involvement at UFC 300, UFC CEO Dana White confirmed that Lesnar won’t be on the PPV in any capacity.
Lensar has a reputation for being hard to work with, but Dana White had a good working relationship with former UFC heavyweight champion. As such, he confirmed that Lesnar would not be returning at UFC 300 and his future lies in his professional wrestling with WWE.
UFC lightweight Jim Miller had a hilarious callout of Lesnar recently but that was just for fun as his original target for UFC 300 was either Matt Brown or Paul Felder. Like Lesnar, Miller was also part of both UFC 100 and UFC 200.
Even though Dana White confirmed that there will be no return of Brock Lesnar or Ronda Rousey at UFC 300, it is expected to be a showcase event. White has yet to announce two more title fights at the PPV which is already stacked with champions and former champions in the fight card.
When was Brock Lesnar’s last UFC fight?
Brock Lesnar’s last fight in the octagon was against fan-favorite heavyweight Mark Hunt at UFC 200 in 2016. In a fight that went the full distance, Lesnar won by unanimous decision as he used his wrestling and strength to full effect in the fight.
However, Lesnar later tested positive for banned substances by USADA, and his win was changed into a No Contest. Mark Hunt has since gone to a legal battle against the UFC, accusing them of having prior knowledge of Lesnar’s steroid abuse. Unfortunately, he lost the case as there were no grounds to prove the UFC guilty.
Lesnar has only fought eight times in the UFC with 4 wins, 3 losses, and 1 No Contest. He first left the UFC for WWE after a string of consecutive TKO losses against Cain Velasquez and Alistair Overeem and a serious intestinal health condition.
Nonetheless, he was one of the highest-paid athletes ever in the UFC even though he fought less than 10 times in the UFC. He once held the highest fight purse in the UFC before the ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor broke it.
