Currently, he has surpassed John Cena in merchandise sales and holds victories over the top stars of the company. It has definitely been a great past couple of years for The American Nightmare.

According to the latest buzz in the world of professional wrestling, it looks like The American Nightmare has now turned his attention to the world of anime and is apparently a popular name in the industry as well.

It came as a surprise to many when they saw Rhodes featured in an upcoming video-game-based anime series by Netflix titled “Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix“. The upcoming anime series featuring Cody Rhodes will be released on October 19, 2023. On the social media platform X, The American Nightmare uploaded a trailer for the anime to generate hype for his latest appearance.

This anime series is based on the popular game, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. It is created by Adi Shankar, who was quite popular for his time as the showrunner in the animated Castlevania. He was also an executive producer for a number of movies, including 2012’s Dredd. In the trailer for the upcoming series, we are introduced to the world of Captain Laserhawk, as it was described as “A VHS full of lasers, video games… and a frog assassin! It’s time to join the revolution with Dolph Laserhawk and free the citizens of Eden!”.

On the social media platform X, Cody Rhodes shared a trailer for the upcoming anime series, titled “Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix“. It came as a surprise to many to see the popular wrestler as a part of an anime.

The trailer features an appearance from Cody Rhodes, with some familiar tattoos. However, his presence was pretty short-lived. In the video clip, he could be seen running to attack the enemy when his head suddenly exploded. The American Nightmare thanked Adi Shankar for including him in his project, saying, “I went boom. Thanks @adishankarbrand for thinking of me and sliding me into your world, cheers to the next time!”

It’s definitely fun to see Cody Rhodes pop up in unexpected places to make a hilarious cameo, despite not playing a major role in the anime. We hope to see more in the world of anime and look forward to the release of Captain Laserhawk!
