The Cleveland Browns brought Deshaun Watson last offseason with a record-breaking deal to bolster their quarterback room. Though the Browns are optimistic regarding their quarterback, he is yet to earn the heart of the team’s fanbase.
The starter for the Browns is thought to have suffered an injury in their Sunday’s 27-3 victory over the Tennessee Titans. Instead of being concerned for Deshaun Watson’s possible injury, fans were enraged due to one of his poor choices.
Is Deshaun Watson injured?
Before the Browns prepared to host the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Deshaun Watson expressed his confidence in winning the game. Unfortunately, in his third game of the season, Watson unfortunately suffered an injury just as he was preparing to showcase his Pro Bowl form.
Apparently, the quarterback hurt himself throughout the game, but fortunately, it wasn’t a serious injury. Later, he was assisted off the pitch as the trainer advised benching him to prevent further injuries.
The news of his injury was kept a secret by the team because it was not serious enough to be made public. In a post-game interview, Watson disclosed his injury information but did not mention any potential dire consequences.
“I didn’t know I didn’t even know I had to come off the field. until the trainer told me I was just going to get up you know he caught me in the neck. and he just kind of lost my breath a little bit so I was just kind of sitting there.”
However, after learning of their quarterback’s potential injury, the Browns’ supporters appeared to be cheering him on. Many of them brought up his sexual assault case in this context, referring to him as the “sexual assailant.” Many of them even gladly welcomed his injury to see his demise with the Browns.
Deshaun Watson came under severe criticism after blunder against Titans
Deshaun Watson appears unable to escape the criticism. After receiving three significant fines for three different offenses against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Brown’s starter once more received a barrage of criticism for a poor throw during their game against the Titans.
Before Watson could even start looking for a receiver, he tossed the ball to Elijah Moore backward. The Browns were forced to lose 16 yards on the play because the receiver wasn’t prepared for it. The Browns star might have been in for a complete nightmare, but Moore saved the day by grabbing it.
After the Browns lost their four-time Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb due to a season-ending knee injury, Watson’s responsibility for maintaining the offensive line became tougher.
Deshaun Watson completed 27 of his 33 passes for 263 yards and two touchdowns in the matchup. His completion percentage increased throughout the course of the game, and his 82% mark was the second-best of his career.
In his season’s first two games, he consistently made absurd decisions. The star player of the Browns appeared to recover from his prior mistake against the Titans, but all it took was one mistake to put him back on the firing line.
