Is Edge the next Undertaker? Exploring ex-WWE referee’s bombshell claim

Edge and The Undertaker had been working in the ring business for a long time. In their whole wrestling career, they have achieved it all. They are considered as legends in WWE. Edge fought his last match on WWE SmackDown against Shaemus. It was confirmed that this was his last match under his present official contract with WWE.

However, a former WWE referee has a different opinion on the alleged retirement and compared his future career with The Undertaker. It would be very interesting to see the R-rated superstar taking on the mantle of The Undertaker.

Former referee Nick Patrick predicts Undertaker’s legacy will live on

The career of the R-rated superstar Edge may not be over yet, despite reports suggesting that the WWE Hall of Famer is unsure about his future in the ring business. Earlier this month, Edge competed in his final match under his current WWE contract, which is due to expire after this year.

Speaking on a recent edition of his own “Monday Mailbag” podcast, former WWE referee Nick Patrick spoke about Edge’s future in the ring. Nick sees Edge will work like Undertaker only in the mega events of WWE.

“Everybody’s talking about whether he’s going to retire… I think he’s going to be like The Undertaker. He can’t do the road anymore, the road is for a young guy. It was a miracle he made his comeback [in 2020] after having neck surgery and the problems he had. Vince [McMahon] doesn’t just pick and choose [wrestlers working a part-time schedule] … he does with Brock [Lesnar], but everybody else has to do road. He probably won’t be on all of them[WWE Premium Live Events,] but I’m sure he’ll be on another WrestleMania again — soon. If he does retire, I don’t think he’ll be completely gone.”

When did the Undertaker retire from WWE?

The Undertaker is a legendary figure in the world of pro wrestling and is widely regarded as one of the most iconic wrestlers in the history of WWE. He has been a part of the wrestling industry for over 30 years, entertaining millions of fans around the globe.

However, in recent years, there has been speculation about whether or not the WWE legend has retired from the WWE. The Undertaker officially retired from the WWE at the age of 55 on November 22, 2020. At the WWE’s PPV event, “Survivor Series”, The Undertaker made his last appearance and bid farewell to the WWE Universe. This news was a shock to many WWE fans, as The Undertaker had been a big part of the WWE for so long. The Undertaker has received a huge ovation from the fans in the Hall of Fame 2022.
