According to the latest report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select on Twitter/X, Tony Khan has already talked with Mone, and he would love to see her perform in his promotion. “Tony Khan confirms he’s had talks with Mercedes Mone and said he’d love to have her in AEW at any time.” wrote Sean Ross Sapp.

Tony Khan talks about hiring Mercedes Mone

Mercedes Mone has been out of the ring due to a serious ankle injury that she suffered while competing in NJPW. She is soon expected to come out of hiatus and join a new promotion. Many fans have speculated that Mone could make her return to WWE.

However, recent reports indicate that her ship is sailing towards AEW. After suffering from that injury, Mone underwent surgery and has been on rest since then. Although she was seen in the arena at the AEW All In event in London back in August, this convinced many fans that the former WWE superstar would join AEW after recovering.

Recently, At the AEW Full Gear event press conference, CEO of the promotion Tony Khan was questioned about Mercedes joining AEW. While answering this, Tony said that he had conversations with Mone, and she is welcome in his promotion.

“She was at AEW All In, and it was great having her as part of the show. I have a ton of respect for Mercedes Mone; we would love to have her anytime in AEW. She has had a great experience with our partner, New Japan; she would be a great addition to AEW anytime and we would always love to have her here,” said Tony Khan.
