The Miami club has sent a strong message to the rest of the MLS how much they’re ready to take the league by storm for the next few years after tying arguably the world’s best player Lionel Messi, to a two-and-a-half-year contract. It wasn’t long before the David Beckham-owned MLS club reunited Messi with his former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.
More incomings are expected in the coming days before the MLS season resumes for the year. Wayne Rooney may have let a few words slip to predict a possible Messi-Suarez link-up in the MLS.
Wayne Rooney predicts Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez reunion
Wayne Rooney took charge of the MLS All-star team against Arsenal yesterday. He may have let a few words slip to suggest that Inter Miami is plotting a move for Luis Suarez to reunite the Uruguayan star with Lionel Messi following the duo’s successful spell at Barcelona.
Wayne Rooney, who currently managed American club DC United, said when quizzed about how teams should prepare for Inter Miami in the MLS, “Messi comes, Busquets comes, you hear that Suarez is coming, Jordi Alba’s coming. So for Inter Miami, it’s about to be very interesting to see how they fit all of them in. But for the league, I think it’s huge, it is.”
While Wayne Rooney believes Inter Miami is bringing in Luis Suarez, the former Liverpool star has rebuffed such rumors. “This is false; it is impossible. I am very happy at Gremio, and I have a contract until 2024,” he told El Observador in an interview.

Inter Miami is undoubtedly the biggest winner of this current MLS transfer window. The Miami-based club quickly tied Messi down to a two-and-a-half-year contract after the Argentine’s contract expired at PSG last month. The club also wasted no time bringing Sergio Busquets to Florida to reunite him with his friend Lionel Messi, and if the reports are anything to go by, they will be joined by Jordi Alba before the end of the month.
