With LeBron and Curry playing in their final stretch, could Tatum be the man to represent the league?

Is Jayson Tatum going to be the next face of NBA?

The Boston Celtics drafted a gem when they selected Jayson Tatum in 2017. Ever since his selection, the superstar has consistently been a dominant force for the franchise, effectively leading the team with the goal of victory and success.

In 2022, Tatum and his teammates contested the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors, coming so close yet falling short of making history. While the loss might have been a letdown for many, it served as a learning curve for Jayson Tatum. He focused on improving and gave no time to off-the-court distractions.

Fast forward two years later, the Boston Celtics are ranked number 1 in the Eastern Conference and are undeniably one of the best teams in the NBA. This feat wouldn’t have happened without the mastery of Jayson Tatum, who on every occasion stepped up, bearing the burden of leading the team and effortlessly dominating his opponents.

Tatum also has newfound confidence and belief that he is the best player in league in a recent interview with ESPN’s Malika Andrews. Over the highly decorated All-Star Weekend, the 25-year-old superstar expressed his desire to be the next face of the NBA and asserted that it was possible for a player of his stature.

Speaking to The Athletic, Jayson Tatum spoke on the NBA’s next face and ambassador. He said, “I feel like it’s mine to take. I do feel like, if we win a championship, it would be more distinguished and clear. But I understand I’m in that shortlist for sure.”

Tatum also addressed the media’s treatment towards him saying, “It’s a little unfair, because everybody don’t get the same treatment. I feel like even some guys older than me or the same age as me get looked at differently than I do. Fair or unfair, whatever it is, I think it’s because we’ve had so much early success.”

With Tatum’s impeccable traits, the Boston Celtics have a league-best record of 43-12 and are currently on a six game win streak.

Is Jayson Tatum MVP-worthy?

Jayson Tatum is in his seventh season, arguably enjoying one of his best seasons as a player with the Boston Celtics. While the Celtics dominate the Eastern Conference, the superstar is patiently dismantling his opponents with ruthless precision, showing little regard for their attributes.

While Tatum does not lead the race for the NBA’s Most Valuable Player, the superstar is most definitely making a case for himself for the individual accolade which would help him become the face of the league. In the latest update of the KIA MVP Ladder, the superstar was placed in the fifth position behind superstars such as Nikola Jokic, SGA, and Luka Doncic.

This season, Jayson Tatum is averaging a massive 27.1 points per game, coupled with 8.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists. While Tatum’s scoring prowess continues to shine, his impeccable play facilitation truly embodies the spirit of basketball. If the Celtics maintain their dominance through the end of the season, Jayson Tatum most definitely presents a compelling argument for the Most Valuable Player honor.
