Dolph Ziggler, also known as Nic Nemeth, stands as one of the industry’s top wrestlers. A former WWE athlete, he has earned substantial fame and garnered attention from fans worldwide. Ziggler was one of the talent cuts from WWE following the company’s and Endeavour’s merger.

Nemeth has since then updated wrestling fans that he will continue his career in professional wrestling and even announced his first match in WWC Euphoria. In recent times fans have speculated that Ziggler may continue his career in NJPW after a picture of him was released on social media.

Is Nic Nemeth AKA Dolph Ziggler heading to NJPW?

In September, WWE released numerous superstars following new company policies post-merger, including former World Champion Dolph Ziggler. Known as ‘The Showoff,’ Ziggler enjoyed a successful 19-year career with the company. After a period out of the spotlight, recent speculation, shared by fans and wrestling news channels, suggests that Nic Nemeth, also known as Dolph Ziggler, might be on the verge of signing a contract with NJPW.

The 43-year-old wrestling superstar was seen attending Wrestle Kingdom 18, which is New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s highly anticipated show, held in Tokyo Dome, Japan. Nemeth attended the event with his brother, Ryan Nemeth. They were present during the IWGP Tag Team Championship and STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championship match. The contest featured Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI, also known as Bishamon, facing off against Hikuleo and El Phantasmo, famously known as the Guerrillas of Destiny.

Nic’s sudden appearance at Wrestle Kingdom 18 was a welcome surprise for fans. As Ziggler is currently a free agent, fans are wondering if he’ll sign any potential contract with NJPW. His talent as a wrestler is undeniable as he held the World Heavyweight Championship twice, the United States Championship twice, and is the six-time Intercontinental Champion.

Dolph Ziggler’s first match in post-WWE career

Dolph was released from WWE in September 2023, along with other famous superstars were let go due to Endeavour’s policies following their merger. Superstars like ‘The King of Bros’ Matt Riddle, Shelton Benjamin, Emma, Riddick Moss, Mustafa Ali, and Dana Brooke are some of the well-known athletes in the industry who left the company.

After Ziggler’s non-compete clause expired, he was one of the most sought-after superstars who was a free agent without any permanent contract. The Superstar announced in December via a clip on Twitter that his first match after WWE is going to be in Puerto Rico.

In the video, Nemeth said, “Ladies and gentlemen, it doesn’t get any bigger than this. That is right, WWC Euphoria in Puerto Rico, baby! You are looking at the most wanted man in professional wrestling today. The hottest free agent and I am laying it down. I’m laying down a challenge in Puerto Rico for “Mr. Ray-tings” Ray Gonzalez. Do you think you can step in the ring and go toe to toe with the best damn thing going today? I am pro wrestling baby. On January 20, WWC Euphoria, the most wanted man Nic Nemeth is coming for you”.

Fans are excited to see Dolph back in action again, although his situation with NJPW is still uncertain, fans hope that the superstar gets to continue his career in a company that benefits him as well as values his skills as a wrestler who performed under WWE for more than a decade.
