The rumors of Randy Orton’s return to WWE have been circulating since WWE SummerSlam 2023, as everyone was expecting to see The Viper make his return to WWE after almost one and a half years. Sadly, this didn’t come to pass, the big shot was nowhere to be found at that event.
However, A fresh report spills the beans on when Orton will be making his grand comeback to the Stamford-based promotion, and the source is quite trusted when it comes to providing backstage information about WWE.
Is Randy Orton going to make his comeback at Survivor Series?
WWE superstar Randy Orton has been missing in action from the WWE scene since getting sidelined in May 2022. For the past few weeks, word on the street has been buzzing with reports that The Viper might just slither his way back into the Stamford-based promotion before Survivor Series 2023. While the WWE hasn’t spilled the beans yet, a report from a reliable PWInsider has got fans crossing their fingers for his comeback.
Randy Orton has been absent from WWE after he got injured during an episode of Monday Night Raw. The injury was so severe that he had to receive fusion surgery to even do the normal activities, let alone training. The doctors even advised The Legend Killer to stay away from wrestling, but Orton is reluctant to heed the advice as he was recently spotted in the WWE performance center taking part in training.
Yesterday, Fighful Select reported that Orton’s return can be expected in the Survivor Series 2023 WarGames event. The superstar is rumored to be the fifth member of Cody Rhodes’s team alongside Jey Uso, Seth Rollins, and Sami Zayn. His comeback is expected to serve the purpose of deflecting any speculations about CM Punk’s return to WWE.
“The plan since this summer for the babyface side was a returning Randy Orton, with the reveal tentatively planned before the day of the show as to avoid any CM Punk speculation,” Fightful Select reported.
Details on Cody Rhodes’ team at Survivor Series Wargames
The WWE Survivor Series 2023 Premium Live Event is getting closer as the days pass. This event is set to mark the return of the WarGames match after several years.
On last week’s episodes Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown, WWE officially revealed the prospective teams set for the women’s and men’s editions of the WarGames match. For the men’s match, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins, and Sami Zayn have been featured to fight against Judgment Day members Damian Priest, Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh. Cody Rhodes and Damian Priest will be the leaders of their respective teams.
According to the rules of the match, each team is advised to have five members to compete in the format. However, current teams have four members, leaving questions over who will be the fifth member of each team.
