Is the Rock vs Roman Reigns happening at the Elimination Chamber?

Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, made his legendary comeback at the RAW-Day:1 event. Since his return, the Hollywood star has addressed the WWE universe on various matters, including taking his place as the ‘Head of the Table’ from WWE’s undisputed universal champion, Roman Reigns.

The 51-year-old wrestling star is surrounded by rumors of a potential match against Roman Reigns at the Elimination Chamber. After the master of Rock Bottom showed his interest in being the ‘ The Tribal Chief’, fans are anticipating the matchup might occur in February 2024.

Is the Rock vs Roman Reigns happening at the Elimination Chamber?

The Rock vs. Roman Reigns will occur, as far as WWE’s stance is considered. The bout is just a matter of whether it will take place at Elimination Chamber in Perth’s Optus Stadium or at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia.

Since the 8-time WWE Championship winner made his return to WWE, fans have expressed interest in a cousin vs. cousin match. Recently, Wrestle Ops shared on Twitter that the Elimination Chamber match might never happen.

The post read, “What we did have confirmed is the Australia rumors aren’t accurate. Roman Reigns is not even scheduled for the show [Elimination Chamber]. He’s never been advertised and there are no plans for him for that date right now.”

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter wrote, “Regarding the Reigns vs. Rock match, while I presume it’s WrestleMania (and could possibly be a three-way with Rhodes but I don’t think that will come out until many weeks from now), what we did have confirmed is the Australia rumors aren’t accurate. Reigns is not even scheduled for the show. He’s never been advertised and there are no plans for him for that date right now.”

The match at Elimination Chamber is unlikely to occur. Although the match at WrestleMania 40 was never mentioned, Meltzer pointed out that for the event in Perth, Australia, the leader of the ‘Bloodline’ is not even scheduled to appear on February 24, 2024.

Chances of The Rock vs Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 skyrocket

Roman Reigns will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble on January 27, 2024, facing off against Randy Orton, LA Knight, and AJ Styles. Although the winner of the upcoming Fatal 4-way match is not certain, some fans are certain that Roman would retain his title.

As per rumors, Reigns is not included in the Elimination Chamber match card, so a potential fight between The Rock vs Roman might happen in WrestleMania 40. For the Royal Rumble battle royal match, CM Punk is the first candidate that fans are hoping would win the match. If Punk were to win the event, he would likely challenge Seth Rollins for his title.

Last year’s WrestleMania saw Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns, in which the American Nightmare lost the match. Some fans are hoping Cody will get to finish his story for the Undisputed Universal Championship storyline. Chances are the WrestleMania 40 match might be a ‘Triple Threat’ match among Cody, Roman, and The Rock or a single match between the Brahma Bull vs The American Nightmare, where the victor gets Roman Reigns.

Fans are highly anticipating the upcoming storyline for the Bloodline. If The Rock vs Roman Reigns were to happen then it would be for all or nothing, where everything the ‘Head of the Table’ has to offer will be won by the victor.
