Israel Adesanya rips “insecure wasteman” Sean Strickland for KOing his sparring partner ahead of UFC 293 title bout

Sean Strickland is gearing up for arguably the most significant bout of his career as he’s set to take on the reigning champion of the middleweight division in a few weeks. Tarzan once again received a strong caution from Israel Adesanya, as Sean shared a training video along with Alex Pereira.

The bout will pit the fourth-ranked pound-for-pound fighter against the fifth-ranked middleweight fighter. Fans can enjoy the Australia card through pay-per-view broadcasted on ESPN and ESPN+.

Israel Adesanya slams Sean Strickland

As Strickland prepares for the pivotal fight of his MMA career, he sought guidance from Alex Pereira. Poatan’s extensive experience against Adesanya in both kickboxing and MMA potentially gives him unique insight into Izzy’s strengths and weaknesses.

Hence Tarzan is currently training under Pereira’s mentorship. However, The Last Stylebender remains unfazed by Strickland’s training under the former middleweight champion.

In a comment, Adesanya issued a stern warning stating how he believes Strickland’s training won’t make a difference when they step into the octagon to face each other by saying, “Imagine doing this and thinking “yea, good work today. Useless insecure wasteman.”

“This was actually really nice to watch. It’s a different feel when you know what’ll happen if you went full Strickland. You never go full Strickland” Adesanya added.

Israel Adesanya vs. Sean Stricklan UFC 293 bout overview

Set for September 10th, UFC 293 will feature a title clash as Adesanya (24-2 MMA, 13-2 UFC) defends his UFC middleweight crown against Strickland (27-5 MMA, 14-5 UFC). The second UFC event in Australia this year is scheduled to take place at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena.

Izzy’s most recent octagon appearance was at a highly anticipated rematch against his longstanding rival, Alex Pereira in UFC 287. The Last Stylebender finally secured a triumphant victory over Poatan at Miami-Dade Arena in April.

Meanwhile, Strickland also showcased his dominance in his last fight. A memorable win over Abus Magomedov at UFC Vegas 76 demonstrated his supremacy in the middleweight division. This commanding triumph served as a testament to Strickland’s well-earned shot at the title.
