Jadon Sancho’s performance has been below par since joining Manchester United. The Manchester United forward has was bought from Dortmund with huge aspirations for the Devils, whereas his numbers at Dortmund are double than that at Old Trafford.
The manager, Erik Ten Hag, reflected on his performance at training, saying the 23-year-old English forward has been performing below par in training. Displeased by his manager’s comments, Sancho issued a rebuttal statement that has been criticised by ex-United stars.
United DOF John Murtough reportedly intervening in Jadon Sancho situation
Manchester United’s match against Arsenal before the International break could have used strong firepower on the left or the right wing. Going forward, Man United will need him now more than considering the ‘Antony sexual assault situation’. However, Jadon Sancho was considered unavailable in the game against Arsenal due to the lapses in his performance in training.
Jadon Malik Sancho has struggled at Manchester United since his arrival. In 82 appearances, he has scored only twelve goals. However, for Borussia Dortmund, he scored 50 goals in 137 matches. In order to improve Sancho’s performance, Ten Hag and his coaching staff devised a lot of creative means, including sending him to train away from the team to return to top form, but this has yielded little or no positive result.
Erik Ten Hag, asked after the Arsenal game why Jadon Sancho was never in the lineups, responded unfiltered, implying that Jadon Sancho’s performance was below par in training.
“On his performance on training, we didn’t select him. You have to reach the level every day. You can make choices in the front line, so in this game, he wasn’t selected.”
Sancho, who felt treated unfairly by the coaching staff and particularly offended by the manager’s comments, replied in a raging outburst, saying;
“Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people to say things that are completely untrue….. I have been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!.”
The matter, still unresolved, is now being looked into by the club’s management, and it has been recommended that the club’s Director of Football, John Murtough, looks into it.
Sancho deleted the post following criticism from former players
Jadon Sancho was not included in the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal due to his outrageous comments to the manager, Erik Ten Hag. Ten Hag explained that Sancho had been performing below par, and Sancho responded in an outrageous outburst.
Ex-United stars are of the opinion that Manchester United has done enough to improve Jadon Sancho’s performance. Hence, it is insensitive for him to conclude that he’s been a ‘scapegoat’ at the club.
Ben Foster is of the opinion that if Sir Alex Ferguson were still the manager at Manchester United, Jadon Sancho would face severe consequences and might not get another chance to play for the club after his social media rant. In Foster’s words, “Jaon Sancho would not see the light of day at United”.This suggests that Ferguson, known for his strict discipline and management style, would have taken a stern approach to such behaviour from a player.
