Many fighters ironically, carry around an Entourage of bodyguards or other fellow combatants pretty much wherever they go. Former UFC fighter Nate Diaz is particularly infamous for such practices, with his combat success rate outside the octagon seemingly better than what he has inside, probably owing to the number of men usually moving around with him.
His current opponent Jake Paul also seems to have taken a page out of the Stockton notice as he too has a team of his own now. When Nate and Jake faced off at Dallas, many were expecting an altercation to break out considering how intense the buildup has been. In the end, violence did erupt but it was not from the fighters directly.
Jake Paul and Nate Diaz teams scuffle at furious final press conference
During the press conference, Diaz had addressed a member of Paul’s security team, with whom he apparently had an altercation in the past.
“You know who the bully is? That bouncer right there who I smacked with a beer the last time he thought he was tight,” Diaz shouted. “I f******* smacked that b**** in the face. That’s who the bully is. F*** him, f*** you, and f*** MVP.”
Jake’s camp probably didn’t take such insults gracefully and the face-off proceeded. During the faceoff, Paul’s smile widened as he tried to goad Diaz into an exchange after continuing to tout his offer for a rematch in MMA after their boxing match on Saturday. Diaz, however, was unfazed by the scene, which had turned ugly for a few moments.

However, once the ceremonial faceoff was done, an all-out war broke out between the security teams representing the two fighters. With both parties shoving each other and throwing ounches. Soon, other security guards (presumed to be neutral) swooped in and got the situation under control.
It is unclear if the initial insults thrown at one of Paul’s security members led to the conflict.
