Jake Paul, the Youtuber-turned-boxer, played a key role in popularizing crossover boxing spectacles alongside his brother Logan and fellow influencer KSI. While Paul achieved victories against veteran UFC fighters in the boxing ring, he faced his only career loss against Tommy Fury.
Similar to his older brother, WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, Tommy maintains an undefeated professional boxing record. Despite the difference in competition level, Fury’s surname contributes significantly to his name recognition in the crossover boxing circuit.
Jake Paul offers Tommy Fury to a $20,000,000 rematch with PFL trilogy
Jake Paul recently spoke with ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, revealing details about his rematch offer to Tommy Fury. Nakisa Bidarian, the current manager of Paul and former UFC employee, was also present in the interview, disclosing the offer made by Paul to Fury.
“Jake has said to Tommy he’s willing to fight him in boxing, and if Jake wins, he’s willing to enter the smart cage in PFL with Tommy and again give him another payday close to eight figures to do that,” Bidarian revealed the offer Jake Paul had made to Tommy Fury to rematch him in boxing which had the potential be Fury’s biggest payday.
“So, there’s a path there where it’s worth close to $20 million of guaranteed money for Tommy Fury,” Bidarian emphasized the substantial financial incentives that Paul extended to Fury. The PFL had previously outlined their intentions for Jake Paul’s MMA debut, pitting him against Nate Diaz in a PPV event headlined by Francis Ngannou and Deontay Wilder in a special rules fight.
Jake Paul blasts Tommy Fury for rematch negotiations failure
Jake Paul revealed in the interview with Marc Raimondi for ESPN that Tommy Fuy declined his offer to rematch him. “He is not very serious about the fight and actually making it happen and unrealistic in terms of offers and finances,” Paul said the reasons why Fury is declining to rematch him.
“He thinks he’s his brother, and his dad is delusional in terms of what they think he’s actually worth,” Paul proceeded to criticize Fury and his father, expressing his belief that they appeared delusional in thinking that Tommy deserved to be compensated at the same level as Tyson.
For context, Tyson Fury made more than $60,00,000 for his sole fight in 2023 against Francis Ngannou which he won via split decision. Along with The Gypsy King, Jake was among the highest-paid boxers of 2023 which was topped by Canelo Alvarez.
“The Problem Child” is scheduled to fight Ryan Bourland in the undercard of the Amanda Serrano versus Nina Meinke on March 2. In his most recent outing inside the boxing ring, Paul knocked out Andre August in the first round of what was Paul’s first non-PPV headliner.
