James Harden finally got his wish of trading away from the Philadelphia 76ers to join his preferred choice, the LA Clippers. The star guard despite having exceptional achievements as a top-level player, couldn’t secure a contract extension with the 76ers which ignited his trade request.
James Harden had initially expressed his desire to play alongside Russell Westbrook again, after two stints together at the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Houston Rockets. While the duo’s action is yet to be seen, Harden had taken out time to celebrate his blockbuster trade from the Philadelphia 76ers.
James Harden reunites with Russell Westbrook
The star guard James Harden has settled in Los Angeles Clippers after successfully achieving his desired trade away from the Philadelphia 76ers. According to a video circulating on X, the duo were seen just ahead of the Clippers’ game against the Magic, exchanging pleasantries.
The deal which also saw Harden’s teammates PJ Tucker and Filip Petrusev moving in exchange for Clippers’ Marcus Morris, Nic Batum, Robert Covington, and Kenyon Martin JR, had several draft picks involved. With the reunion of Harden and Westbrook, there are widespread predictions of the Clippers’ chances of winning a title. According to ESPN stats and info, the franchise is viewed to have a 12% chance of winning a title, which is the best in the Western Conference.
Increasing positive predictions about the Clippers’ future with Harden and Westbrook in the roster, might not be totally off point as the duo dazzled in the Oklahoma City Thunder’s run to the 2011-2012 NBA finals, before falling to the Heat star-studded team.
James Harden celebrates his trade from 76ers to Clippers
It’s only a matter of time before the star guard James Harden gets on the court for the Clippers. In the wake of such a blockbuster trade after the turmoil between Harden and the 76ers’ front office, the star guard took time to celebrate his trade.
Following Harden’s celebration, which was revealed by a picture of the star drinking a glass of wine while taking some time off the floor. Meanwhile, the Clippers were on the court against the Orlando Magic which they won with a 118-102 score line, and later faced the Lakers.
While James Harden’s debut against the Magic was not feasible, the star guard going against the Lakers will spark a serious wave of interest from the NBA community and could propel the Clippers to maintain their unbeaten run against the Lakers since 2020.
