Tatum reaches 10k career points
Jason Tatum has surpassed the 10,000 career point mark overtaking Antoine Walker as the youngest player in the franchise’s history to achieve this feat. Tatum who is only 25 years old now accomplished this feat in the second quarter of his match against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday. The Celtics won the matchup with a final score of 124-114.
With just 5 minutes and 5 seconds remaining in the quarter, Tatum made a remarkable move, driving forward and executing a beautiful turn to successfully convert a layup. Cam Thomas was drawn into a charging foul while trying to block the layup. The Celtics star then made the free throw, extending Boston’s lead to 52-48.
Jayson Tatum was asked about how he felt after achieving this feat, and he humbly responded, “It is kind of hard to process. At the moment, it is a huge accomplishment. I am extremely blessed to be part of a great franchise. I have been fortunate to be on some really good teams; have some good coaches, and have some great teammates who have helped contribute to 10,000 points along the way.”
