Beginning in 2020, Matt Hardy joined AEW, and in March 2022, Jeff Hardy followed the same path. The Hardys are unhappy with AEW’s booking choices, even though they were featured on Rampage. Because of his fame and years of expertise, Jeff Hardy has spoken about his deepest frustrations.
After a brief hiatus from television, the Hardys have just made a triumphant comeback to AEW. They haven’t been in a big feud despite being a top-tag team. So, Jeff again took to social media to vent his displeasure, sharing a graphic for the Dynamite match card for this week as an expression of his feelings.
Jeff Hardy far from happy with AEW booking
Despite their stellar reputation as tag team artists in WWE and elsewhere, Jeff and Matt Hardy have been unable to establish themselves in AEW’s tag team division. Even though tag team wrestling is AEW’s main attraction, the experienced brothers have only appeared in minor events and have been completely ignored in battle royals.
Despite joining AEW in 2022, Jeff Hardy has been unable to achieve the kind of success he has had at other firms. The Hardys returned to the ring in December 2023 for their first appearance on AEW Rampage after a brief hiatus. But the long-time veterans aren’t happy about being ignored on special editions like Dynamite’s recent Homecoming episode.
Dynamite last featured the Hardys on November 29, 2023, and their comeback date is still up in the air. In fact, just before an episode of Dynamite aired, Jeff Hardy made the lighthearted suggestion in an Instagram post that they were trapped in another world.
Matt Hardy recently voiced his frustration overbooking
Pro wrestling veteran Matt Hardy is always trying new things. In the wrestling community, his thoughts are highly valued. He has recently spoken out about his dissatisfaction with his current role in AEW, particularly with the fact that neither he nor his brother Jeff Hardy have been crowned AEW World Tag Team Champions.
During an episode of his podcast, Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt voiced his valid complaints over the difficulties of AEW bookings. The Hardy Boyz are now adrift in AEW’s tag division, despite having won many tag team championships. On the same podcast, Matt Hardy offered yet another solution to their predicament.
He said, “There’s something we can do there to evolve our characters and once again reinvent into something we’ve never done. There’s never been really an aggressive, take-by-any-means-necessary, cheat if you have to, break the rules if you have to, or ‘bad’ Hardy Boyz version of the Hardys.”
