Jerry Jeudy latest: WR Jerry on signing three-year contract extension worth $58M

Jerry Jeudy embarked on his NFL career with the Denver Broncos following his first-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. For four seasons, Jeudy showcased his talent and contributed to the Broncos’ roster. Nevertheless, amid changes in the Broncos’ lineup, including the release of their starting quarterback Russell Wilson, Jeudy found himself traded during the offseason.

Now, Jeudy enters a new chapter with the Cleveland Browns, where he’s poised for a fresh start. Meanwhile, the Browns extended a warm welcome, signing him to a lucrative contract.

Jerry Jeudy extension contract with Cleveland Browns, including $41 million guaranteed

The Browns made a significant move on Tuesday, securing Jerry Jeudy with a high-valued contract as he was entering the final year of his contract. They agreed to a three-year extension worth up to $58 million, averaging $19.3 million annually.

General manager Andrew Berry expressed his enthusiasm about the extension, stating the receiver’s potential as he enters his prime.

“When we acquired Jerry via trade this spring, it was with the vision that he would become a core member of our offense in 2024 and beyond. He is a scheme-versatile receiver with high-level ability to separate against man coverage and a diverse number of ways to produce on the perimeter or in the slot,” Berry said.

With $41 million fully guaranteed at signing, Jeudy’s status as a key asset for the Browns is solidified. He is considered one of the top receivers in the league when it comes to guaranteed money, just behind Chicago’s D.J. Moore.

Additionally, his versatility and talent have made him a valuable addition to the Browns’ receiving corps, which already includes notable players such as Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore.

The former Broncos player brings a wealth of experience and on-field productivity to the Browns. In his 57 appearances, with 44 starts, he has managed to amass an impressive 211 catches for 3,053 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Jerry to make “fresh start” with Cleveland Browns

On March 9, the Broncos traded Jerry Jeudy to receive 2024 fifth- and sixth-round draft selections, clearing a significant $12.9 million in salary-cap space for the team. This move not only reshuffled the roster but also offered their former team receiver a fresh start.

Upon arriving in Cleveland, the 24-year-old expressed his excitement and optimism about the transition. He sees this new chapter as an opportunity to hit the reset button and thrive in a new environment surrounded by talented teammates.

“I feel like it’s a fresh start. It’s going to be exciting just to be able to be somewhere new, especially having all the great guys on the team. So, it’s just going to make things a lot easier for me and just better,” he said, per Cleveland Browns.

As he settles into his new role with the Browns, expectations run high for both him and the team. With an impressive 11-6 record last season, the Browns are eager to capitalize on their momentum and make a deeper playoff push. Jeudy’s addition to the roster brings excitement, as fans eagerly anticipate seeing him connect with star quarterback Deshaun Watson on the field.

Nevertheless, with great expectations come added pressure, particularly for Watson. As the highest-paid player in Browns history, Watson’s performance will be under intense scrutiny as he aims to validate his lucrative contract, which guarantees him a staggering $46 million per year.

As Jeudy and Watson join forces, all eyes will be on the dynamic duo to deliver results and elevate the Browns to new heights in the upcoming season.
