Jets’ QB Aaron Rodgers says he’s “way ahead” of his Achilles rehab schedule but still has a long way to go before making NFL return

Aaron Rodgers flew straight from Malibu, Australia, to give his team a surprise visit ahead of their week 4 match against the Kansas City Chiefs. Though the quarterback was in the stadium to boost the confidence of his new team, they fell short of expectations. However, the Gang Green buckled up themselves the next week and secured a victory against the Denver Broncos.

Rodgers’ franchise stretched their winning streak in week 6 by giving an upsetting victory to the formerly undefeated team Philadelphia Eagles. While the Jets are preparing themselves to smash the New York Giants in the upcoming game, the signal-caller shared a positive update about his injury, which was projected to be a season-ending blow earlier.

Aaron Rodgers claims he’s “way ahead” of his Achilles rehab schedule

During his regular weekly appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on ESPN on Tuesday, Rodgers boldly said he is ahead of schedule for his rehabbing. The signal-caller explained how the doctor’s “innovative” surgery and his “power of intention” have been helping him in his recovery.

“There are a lot of factors to that. There’s the way that I’ve attacked the rehab; there’s obviously the surgery that Dr. [Neal] ElAttrache did; there’s the rehab that I’ve done and kind of the around-the-clock approach that I’ve had; there’s implementing the diet that I’ve been doing as well; and then just the power of the mind and the power of manifestation of the desires,” he said via ESPN.

In the Jets’ recent win against the Philadelphia Eagles, the 39-year-old was spotted on the MetLife Stadium field without crutches, and he even threw passes. The veteran said that the next steps would be for him to jog and workout while mentioning these are going to be “critical markers” for him.

“You saw me walk without crutches and throw on the field. Another marker’s gonna be jogging. And then another marker’s gonna be going through a pregame workout, probably, and get on a practice field. All of these are gonna take time. There’s critical markers I have to hit.”

The four-time MVP had been able to put weight on his left leg as well as ankle, and for him, this is a road map to his early recovery.

“Stress, okay, stretch, not okay. So, it’s just about being smart with the rehab and pushing it as much as I can and then backing off on the days that I don’t feel great.”

The aftermath of The Post’s conversion signaled A-Rod’s potential to return by Week 14 or 15, and seemingly, the Jets fans will see the signal-caller donning the Big Apple’s jersey soon. However, the QB also mentioned the road to complete recovery is still long for him.

Aaron Rodgers addresses NFL week 6 pregame media attention

Rodgers was on crutches on the sideline during his appearance in the Jets vs Chiefs match. However, within the period of a week, he appeared in the stadium donning white T-shirt and black sweatpants along with a Jets cap, and as aforementioned, without any crutches.

The dual-threat’s healthy presence, and also the 15-minute ball-throwing session with the cornerback Sauce Gardner created an instant buzz in the NFL media. He addressed the media attention on his pregame throwing routine in The Pat McAfee Show and said he loved the buzz.

“Just about anything I do or say, there’s some sort of reaction, that’s kind of where I’m at right now and I appreciate it.”

Though the veteran revealed the feeling of having a little bit of a limp, he was happy to resume normal life. On Tuesday, Gang Green’s head coach Robert Saleh openly declared their move of saving a spot for the QB in advance. Now, it remains to be seen if Rodgers will make it to the gridiron this season, donning Gang Green’s jersey.
