Jets special teams star credits Aaron Rodgers’s comeback spirit for team’s three-game winning streak

The New York Jets off-season hero Aaron Rodgers left the team’s offensive room in jeopardy in his debut game of the season. The Rodgers-less team stumbled much with their backup quarterback Zach Wilson, yet surprisingly found their footing soon and robbed a winning streak.

The presence of Aaron in the locker room already has brought solace in the NY team’s fans’ minds and they began to find out the deadline of seeing their hero on the field. Now, the team’s special teams star Thomas Morshed revealed the latest development on Rodgers’ injury.

Thomas Morstead affirms Rodgers’s recovery as catalyst

Rodgers left the field on a cart in his season-opening game, leaving the Jets team’s Super Bowl aspirations dashed in their debut game. As A-rod still intends to return to the field this season, he is trying his heart and soul to shorten his road of recovery and don the Gang Green jersey soon.

On his appearance on the Pat McAfee show, the Jets punter got into his teammate’s recent conditions, and said like the fans they are also eyeing to get back their starter as soon as possible. Like a bunch of New York medical experts, Aaron’s swift recovery process stunned Morstead as well.

“Let me tell ya, it’s like a hope thing. Every day, every week you see him out there. He’s done another week of rehab and all of a sudden he’s doing a little something new,” Morstead said.

The normal rehab period for an Achilles tear takes between 6 to 8 weeks. Yet, it’s seemingly a mere thing for the Jets offensive leader and he is now rushing to check all the boxes before ensuring his activation on the roster.

Jets on a three-game winning streak

Though the former Green Bay Packers player could not pull together a victory in the MetLife Stadium, his presence boosted his team’s confidence. After winning the season-opening game when the team’s losing streak led the fans to leave the field with frustrated faces and teary eyes in all games, Rodgers could not resist flying to New York and joining the team in the locker room before their showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Jets narrowly lost the game, albeit the team’s performance won the heart of A-rod. Since then, the NY team has not lost in a single game; most interestingly forcing the high-flying Philadelphia Eagles to land on the ground through an upset 20-14 win in Week 6.

Hoping for this winning streak was nearly impossible without Rodgers, yet Morstead argued that they already discovered their formulas to keep pace with other winning teams.

“We just gotta keep hanging in there and keep finding ways to win. You can already see the story of how this thing could end. It’s exciting just to even think about it. It’s too good of a story, you can already see the ending. … It gives the guys a lot of hope about what could be.”

The 4-3 Jets are set to battle against the 3-4 Los Angeles Chargers in their upcoming contest. Do you think the team’s winning streak will keep going and entertaining the team fans?
