Cody Rhodes is scheduled to fight ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 40. After The Rock betrayed Cody’s trust to challenge Roman, ‘The Architect’ Seth Rollins pledged his strength to ‘The American Nightmare’ in his match against Reigns.
Former Bloodline faction member, Jey Uso, who left his faction after an altercation with the ‘Head Of the Table’ has recently pledged his allegiance to Cody Rhodes in the Bloodline rivalry. Jimmy Uso wants Roman to win, and Jey also wants Cody to dethrone Reigns in their match.
Jey Uso offers himself to Cody Rhodes’ aid
Jey Uso has been in a feud with the ‘Bloodline faction’ since he left the faction last year. After Jimmy Uso attacked him mid-match during his Intercontinental Title bout with Gunther, Jey has been waiting to attack the ‘Bloodline’ and cost them something to lose.
A little while back, in Episode 7 of The Jackie Redmond Show, Jackie interviewed WWE Superstar Jey Uso, where he was asked who he would choose between family and Cody, and he unhesitantly chose Cody over his family.
During the interview, he was asked about his opinion on the ‘Bloodline’ and Cody Rhodes’s upcoming match, to which he said, “I just be like, ‘look at these fools’ like I’m so glad I’m not in that no more. But like man, Cody bro, if you need help man, I got you bro. Call me. If anybody know how they get down, it’s me. But I’m telling you bro, we need more soldiers. We need more soldiers if we going to go get some Bloodline, I’m telling you bro, this is what they do all the time. We need about six-seven more. Okay?”
Jey Uso is currently rumored to face Jimmy Uso in a once-in-a-lifetime match at the ‘Show of Shows’ in WrestleMania 40. Although the match has still not been confirmed, fans hope to see both teams’s rivalries end once and for all.
Cody Rhodes’ history with Jey Uso
‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes has a long history with Jey Uso. They first clashed in 2014 for the Tag Team Championship on ‘Night of Champions’. Cody, at that time, played his Stardust gimmick and was paired with his brother Goldust. After a grueling match, the Dust Brothers took the victory, as Stardust pinned Jey Uso to take the victory. After that, they clashed again in the ‘Hell in a Cell’ event, where again the Dust brothers took the win.
Their next clash was during Road to WrestleMania 39, where ‘The Usos’ and Solo Sikoa tried to incapacitate Rhodes before he faced Roman Reigns for the undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The WrestleMania 39 match saw both Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso’s interference, which played a role in costing Cody his match.
Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso teamed up for the first time during their title bout against ‘The Judgement Day’. In the event of Fastlane 2023 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes defeated Finn Balor & Damian Priest for the Undisputed Tag Team Championship. During the match, Jey and Cody delivered a combined move on Finn Balor, which ultimately led them to secure the victory by pin.
The last time Jey and Cody teamed up was on Survivor Series 2023, WarGames. The team of Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, and Randy Orton faced off against Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, and Drew McIntyre. The match saw every superstar outmaneuvering one another, but near the end, team Cody took the win after they defeated their opponents at the Allstate Arena in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont, Illinois.
Although Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso have come a long way from enemies to friends, some fans are still skeptical about whether Jey is serious about his support for Cody. Since Rock acknowledged Roman as the Head, fans are wondering if the ‘Bloodline’ is going through an internal fight or if things are as genuine as they seem.
